Freddy Pharkas: Frontier Pharmacist, a satirical point & click Western by legendary designers Al Lowe and Josh Mandel, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com!

It's been awhile since Freddy hung up his gunslinging shoes and re-invented himself as a small-town pharmacist but trouble is brewing once again. Snail stampedes, diarrhea epidemics, gassy steeds, Poker thieves - there's a cure for everything, as long as you point & click at the right place. Or know how to make proper use of your silver ear.

Breja: Looks like a westen themed Monkey Island wannabe. Which isn't a bad thing, really. I love point & clicks and not many are set in the Wild West. Wishlisted.
I wouln't consider a game from Al Lowe and Josh Mandel as a Monkey Island wannabe, as their games precede Lucasarts.
It's a classic sierra style adventure, and I think more in the vein of the space quest series.
Holy Crap, one of the big ones... out of nowhere!

rgnrk: Am I the only who also wants Conquests Of The Longbow (+Conquests of Camelot)?

The missing sierra 3rd person adventure games:

Codename: Iceman (1989) - 3rd Person, Sierra Entertainment
Laura Bow: The colonel's Bequest (1989) - 3rd Person, Sierra Entertainment
Conquests Of Camelot: The Search For The Grail (1990) - 3rd Person, Sierra Entertainment
Conquests Of The Longbow: The Legend Of Robin Hood (1991) - 3rd Person, Sierra Entertainment
EcoQuest: The Search For Cetus (1991) - 3rd Person, Sierra Entertainment
Laura Bow 2: The Dagger Of Amon Ra (1992) - 3rd Person, Sierra Entertainment
Pepper's Adventures In Time (1993) - Side-scrolling, Sierra Entertainment
Ecoquest II: Lost Secret Of The Rainforest (1993) - 3rd Person, Sierra Entertainment
I believe the Conquests series are free by the original developers. Would be nice to see them wrapped up in Dosbox nicely and delivered here on GOG.

Yes, you can get them from their site, but with a "Again, I can make no guarantees about these files. Download at your own risk." disclaimer.
Another good reason for me to stick to old games is the min req. of new games released or soon to be released:

I noticed Need To Know, after seeing the images i got curious and wanted more info so i searched on steam: doesnt have it or the database hasnt been updated it doesnt show up.
So i checked youtube for videos, sofar unable to find anything.
So maybe its another average or bad game, don't know cause there too litle media now to use as a guide.(walkthroughs show the entire game and how it looks)

The min req.

Intel® Core™ i5-6200U Processor (3M Cache, up to 2.80 GHz)
2 Cores, 4 Threads
@2.3 GHz Skylake

???? 2.3 ghz ? as a minimum
that means if the game would be playable for me (motions/3d) i be running at minimum and i don't want to play games at min.

So let the good old games from past decades come :D i can run these at recommended.
Holy smokes, absolutely awesome release!

Thanks so much to gog and Activision (who apparently had "new, reasonable pricing policy" on their new year's resolution).

Would be awesome if gog could get Josh Mandel to do a dev interview!

Oh. It looked and by the description just sounded a lot like Monkey Islands wild west cousin. That's not so good, for me at least. I don't like the Sierra games much. Good thing I don't instabuy things.
Wow! Definitely an instabuy!

I would buy all of these except Codename: Iceman. I see that both of the Conquests games are available on Christy Marx's site. I assume they will run with ScummVM?

The Manhunter series. Don't forget those and Goldrush!. Those were some cool, very early, Sierra adventure games.

muntdefems: GOG, I'm curious: when you release an old game using DosBox, how do you decide if you're gonna offer Mac and Linux versions? I mean, most of the recent oldies are available for all 3 OSs (Pizza Tycoon, Ignition, Lost Eden(?), Constructor...), Freddy Pharkas isn't. Is it because of technical issues?
I believe in this case it is the publisher

If you look at the Activision games on GOG they are all pc only. When GOG releases new games I find this to be typical.

Certain publishers don't have Mac/linux versions even though there is no obvious reason not to, which suggests to me the publisher does not allow it.

If that's true, well... it's their loss then. I mean, if it's a game I feel strongly nostalgic about, I'll probably purchase it nonetheless and try to fiddle with DosBox myself to make it work. But with others I don't care so much (like Freddy Pharkas) I definitely won't. I might impulse buy them if they were already pre-configured for Linux, though...

Be nice to see some of those bundled together: a Laura Bow bundle, an EcoQuest bundle, and a Conquests bundle.

I'd support a Willy Beamish and Pepper bundle, but that might not make sense.

In general we're still missing a lot of Sierra games: Manhunter, Rise of the Dragon, Mixed-Up Fiary Tales, Aces of the Pacific, Caesar 1, Outpost 1 and 2, etc.

Seeing SWAT 4 and Freddy here, though, definitely gives me hope. :) Well done GOG and thanks Activision for working with GOG!

If we're going for the Dynamix/Sierra adventures and those post 3rd person:

* SIERRA*
Castle Of Dr. Brain (1991) - 1st Person, Sierra Entertainment
The Island Of Dr. Brain (1992) - 1st Person, Sierra Entertainment

Shivers (1995) - 1st Person, Sierra Entertainment
Lighthouse: The Dark Being (1996) - 1st Person, Sierra Entertainment
Shivers 2: Harvest Of Souls (1997) - 1st Person, Sierra Entertainment

** DYNAMIX **
Rise Of The Dragon (1990) - 1st Person, Dynamix
The Adventures of Willy Beamish (1991) - 3rd Person, Dynamix
Heart Of China (1991) - 1st Person, Dynamix
Rama (1996) - 1st Person, Dynamix

I don't have the Manhunter games nor Goldrush! in my list, so I'll have to look into it.

Now this is a good old game! Glad to see many old style adventure fans can tick this one off their list.
