Behind every great empire, there is one great strategist.

Empires: Dawn of the Modern World, a captivating RTS where you dominate your opponent's nation by prospering through five historical periods, is now available DRM-free, exclusively on GOG.com.

From the Middle Ages to World War II, the challenges and tribulations that await your civilization will be plenty. Resource gathering, smart allocation of your workforce, and effective deployment of your forces are imperative to thrive in this follow-up to Empire Earth which emphasizes the diverse playstyle of each playable nation.

NOTE: The game does not currently support multiplayer but we are working on resolving the issue.
Since I guess the Gremlins thread will get quite a bit of exposure, let's pop this thread as well.
I thought I played most strategy games of the period. Why have I never even heard of this game before?

Becaus eit is extremely buggy :D

Sometimes units will receive practical god mode, because their hitpoints and damage will increase into extreme heights :D
So, anyone that has played this game and can tell us whether it's worth it?

I like it.

Its similar to Empire Earth so if you liked that it you will probably like this too.
Stainless Steel Studios is the publisher? Really? But they shut down 12 years ago.
Quite pricey, but wishlisted.
I think I had this game.

It explains why when I had got Empire Earth from gog it looked wrong.
Once again a fantastic GOG release. I don't care that it's not on sale, I need this, now. Its still such a fantastic game. Never would have suspected this as it was published by Activision and Stainless Steel Studios died a long time ago. (but since you guys also managed to get SWAT 4 going again, hopes were certainly up)

Ever since this game stopped working on windows 7 (or more specifically, it also didnt like 1080p resolutions if i recall correctly) I've kind of been waiting for this to come back digitally because I could not get the retail disk working again. (it used to be available on Steam back in the day)

@GOG; I currently booted it up, and haven't tried the registery edit to set my resolution yet, but is there any reason you guys didn't add more 'normal' resolutions to the option menu? (like 1080, 1440 or even 4k). While 1600x1200 works fine, and feels a little stretched on my 1440p monitor its not the aspect ratio i'm looking for ;)

Thank you. Should there be any more questions, I'll ask again.
Woah, now this is scary. I discovered this game just the other week while looking for Empire Earth -likes. Thanks for the mind reading powes GOG.
QUESTION : Does it have a skirmish mode vs computer (where you can play a single battle choosing the number of your enemies, the type of landscape, etc.) ?

Edit: Thanks Touwa, wishlisted.

Yes.
Three amazing games on the frontpage and an awesome giveaway. Genesis is a superb game, tough as heck and unforgiving, at least to me - and my several hours into it, thanks to the amazing "Late for Work" gogmix! -; Empires is something I kinda missed back in the day thanks to, welp, The Sims and STRAFE is... my wet dream coming true.

Damn!
