Saving throw successful.

At the behest of the mighty wizards, you have made a thousand-hour journey through the Forgotten Realms. As you reminisce upon your experiences, the critical hits, and the skill checks, little do you know that your quest is far from over. At dawn, you choose a new path through the DRM-free realm of GOG.com, and seek more adventure in the realms of Krynn, Dark Sun, and Ravenloft.

The missing pieces of cRPG history are coming back together! Our Dungeons & Dragons inventory just got bigger with three new packs containing seven long lost RPG digital premieres.

--Dungeons & Dragons: Ravenloft Series - featuring Strahd's Possession, Stone Prophet - is one of the largest and most popular D&D settings ever. A gothic-noir universe ruled by the dark powers that be.

--Dungeons & Dragons: Krynn Series - featuring Champions of Krynn, Death Knights of Krynn, The Dark Queen of Krynn - a trilogy of famous Dragonlance stories, based on the incredibly successful Forgotten Realms video-game formula.

--Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Sun Series - featuring Shattered Lands, Wake of the Ravager - a pair of titles set in the post-apocalyptic take on D&D - a world where magic is banished and water is as scarce as hope.

Traverse, and become lost once more in, the incredible digital worlds of Dungeons & Dragons - once again resurrected from video game limbo and delivered straight to your modern computer. Hassle free, DRM-free, on GOG.com!
I just opened my mouth agape and waggled my hands like a idiot seeing this. Thank you. This is what I've been waiting for since I saw this site. Buying them all now.

Blakes7: So GOG is listed as publisher. Does that mean GOG own full rights to the game?

I would wishlist an hd version of Dark Sun if GOG was willing to make one.

Grargar: GOG isn't a developer. If anyone would be able to make a remake of any of the games, it would be GOG's sister company, CD Projekt RED.
What are the chances they would consider this at some point?
Krynn!! That's where it all started for me. Played those games on Amiga back when the books hadn't even been translated to finnish yet. After playing the games, I of course picked up the books in english and read them through, and then played again. Some time later I read the books again, as they had finally been translated to finnish - and then played the games through again. I wonder what will happen next...

Great work GOG; hopefully you'll eventually be able to mark these two wishes off :) -

All the original SSI Dungeons and Dragons Games

SSI AD&D Gold Box series
Unfortunately Champions of Krynn and Death Knights of Krynn default to PC Speaker for sound effects again. Tandy sound would have been a better option, especially since Adlib would still be used for the music.

Also why is Dark Sun 2: Wake of the Ravager using lossy OGG files for CD audio, rather than a CD image? the CD image from original releases should be fine to use, only the later release in AD&D Masterpiece Collection was glitched.
Icewind dale series is about as far back as I go with D& D Games. The gold box games and raveonloft I could never get far in. The furthest I got was when I found the main vampire then the town wiped me out as I couldnt talk to anyone without being attacked-no merchants or blacksmiths. Jeez what a crappy game.
Thank god....they've done it. If GOG never releases another game again, that fact that they've rescued every SSI D&D Classic from the ash-heap of history is a legacy in and of itself to be proud of. These games are the crown jewel for many of us, and I for one couldn't be happier. Kudos to the whole team for the diligence to acquire the games from licensing limbo and preserve them forever.

This is SUPER exciting! Dark Sun in particular has been on my radar for a long time--wishlisted.
Great releases! Thanks GOG! :-)

Wishlisted for now.

Niggles: What are the chances they would consider this at some point?
Having worked a bit on the (failed) revival of Dark Sun Online, I'll say the chances are 0. The code from those days is far from the portable codebases programmers now use.

Not that it's completely impossible, just that the ROI for commercial development will never be enough.

htown1980: dag y'all, I never understood why the jocks get the fly girls and me I get the hood rats.

I mean, dag y'all Krynn is here!!!!!!!!!
Maybe just maybe you'll save a fly girl from hood rats :)

equivalential: WELL YOU GOT THEM ALL.

Crosmando: Not quite:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spelljammer:_Pirates_of_Realmspace
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birthright:_The_Gorgon's_Alliance
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_%26_Magic (this one is Interplay not SSI though)

Also, not D&D but used the Gold Box engine/gameplay:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buck_Rogers:_Countdown_to_Doomsday
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buck_Rogers:_Matrix_Cubed

Then of course there was a bunch of pretty bad D&D games I don't know if anyone cares about, like Dragon Strike (dragon flying simulation), Shadow Sorcerer, Dragon Dice and of course the infamous Descent to Undermountain.

Oh and finally the "Silver Box" games which were meant to be "arcade action" equivalents to the Gold Box (*shiver*)... yeah don't play these.

There were also two console-exclusive D&D games made by Westwood, but I haven't played them so I can't vouch for their quality (or lack thereof):

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dungeons_%26_Dragons:_Warriors_of_the_Eternal_Sun

EDIT: Oh and this too: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fantasy_Empires
Never heard of it so can't comment.
I meant 'ALL' as in 'all that I asked for, wow!', not in 'all the AD&D games ever'! XD

I asked for Al-qadim, Dark Sun and Ravenloft , and here they are. It's pretty great. Hope everyone else get what they're waiting for, too.

BreOl72: Nice!...aaand - instabought!

JudasIscariot: Shattered Lands comes in German too :D Thanks E_A and PiranJade :D
Which is a nice to have bonus, of course.
But I bought all three series without even checking, which languages are supported - yep!...I love SSI's games that much.
;o)
Good to see Dark Sun here :)
