A cabin in the woods, how charming!

Don't Starve, a wilderness survival sandbox game with many original ideas, item crafting, and remarkable visuals, is available 20% off on GOG.com. That's only $11.99 for the first two weeks!

Don't Starve is a game focusing on your wilderness survival skill. Cast in the middle of unwelcoming wild you will need to learn to take care of yourself without all the commodities and luxuries that our civilization provides. It's back to the basics! You need to gather supplies, hunt, avoid dangers, and learn how to make a living in the harsh realm that became your new home. When you're alone in the woods death can come to you in many different ways. A simple cut might prove to be just as dangerous as a forest fire. But your most lethal and persistent enemy is hunger. What am I going to eat today--that's going to be your first thought every day. You might be reduced to gnawing on tree-bark, but whatever it takes: Don't Starve. Who knows, if you live long enough, you might even discover the dark secrets, hidden away from human sight, where no man dares to go.

Get your basic survival gear and a one-way ticket to the middle of nowhere, for only $11.99 on GOG.com, and once you get there remember: Don't Starve! The release special offer lasts for two weeks, that is until Tuesday, May 7, at 12:59AM GMT.
You had me worried there about the cd key for updates, glad it's cleared out.

The same who did mark of the ninja and the shanks?

I like ninja quite much, not much so shank.

I'll wait for some reviews and wishlist it for now.

cyboff: Don't you know if there is possibility to get GOG key instead of steam key when I purchased early-access?
Doesnt seem to be so. I am wondering the same thing, bought this some months ago, but was waiting to play till its finished. Would much prefer the gog version since it seems to be standalone without chrome or steam.

Stooner: The hint is for a classic release, probably thursday..

I'm guessing a sequel to something that combines RPG-RTS-FPS-Point'n'Click-SHMUP, but I still could not get the damn name...
I'm willing to bet it was originally released between 1990 and 2016, but I might be pushing it a bit.

If it is only about standalone version - it seems I can download it from my humble account now, check yours...

faugn: Sorry GOG, another game I will buy from Steam or maybe a Humble Bundle because of Linux support...
Same for me, now that I'm back on Linux. Hopefully GOG starts including Linux versions for the newer indie games, since they're fairly common.
YES.

Don't Starve belongs here.
Did Don't Starve already have a game card yesterday? Because the start page says '551 games' and I am pretty sure there were also 551 games yesterday.

It's here from Friday as I recall. Same with Fez.

Yes, it's the same dev team (and I think the same character designer) but the game style is -completely different- from all their previous releases.

I got this in a Steam trade and it's very much worth its price. I stopped playing it two weeks ago so I'd go in mostly blind when the final game was released today.
All right, after reading opinions on the forum and reviews I boutht the game.
Now I'll have to play Don't Starve to the end of the month in real life :)))
I personally hope GOG releases more and more indie games, like Mass Effect 2.
Good game, really fun and original.

...or FIFA 13. That'd be swell!
I bought this on Steam half a year ago, and even then it played almost perfectly. Since then, the main thing they've been doing is addressing the very few bugs and adding lots of content. It's a wonderful game, totally focused on being fun.

One thing you will NOT get from Don't Starve is the punishing, miserable experience you might expect from its genre and based on comparisons. Though brutal at times, this game is very very good at keeping you alive - just barely alive. You'll find yourself losing your backpack, low on health, running like hell through the gathering dark with monsters snapping at your heels... and yet somehow you'll manage to survive.

Most of the time. Until your luck runs out.

Yeah. Like many rogue-likes, most of your deaths will generally be caused by you doing something stupid as opposed to the game screwing you over.
