Standing the test of time.

Caesar & Caesar II, two solid building blocks of the city-building genre, are now available, DRM-free on GOG.com!

From the ancient, almost-top-down visuals of the original to the far more detailed isometric cities of Caesar II, these are the games that successfully introduced a strong historical context into the city-building strategy games. Aspiring to become Caesar is the ultimate motivation but bettering the lives of your little Romans by setting up sensible infrastructure, proper entertainment, or impressive monuments, never stops being fun.

tfishell: I don't claim to know how many remaining Sierra games would actually be worth GOG's time to bring, but there are quite a few still left: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Sierra_Entertainment_video_games

Oh yeah, I forgot Sierra published NOLF 2 (and I guess NOLF 1 would be with Activision now since Fox Interactive was bought by Vivendi and Vivendi merged with Activision or something like that.). Maybe Activision now has time to help sort this out.

mistermumbles: I would love to see the 3D Ultra Pinball series, but I'm not sure what the compatibility of those would be like, not to mention general interest.
I'd love to see those games as well. You have my vote :-)
He-he..Recently classics are being released at the rate I'm not able to pick them.....I like it :-)

jorlin: Plebs are needed!
That's nice; it's always good to be needed. =)
Oh yeah, Willy Beamish, Heart of China, and Rise of the Dragon would make for a dynamic day!

eksasol: I guess my review wasn't well taken: https://www.gog.com/game/caesar_ii
To be honest, it’s only a review because it’s sitting in the reviews section. Sure, it may bring a smile to the face of some people, but it doesn’t really say anything about what the game is and how good it is. It’s like the above “review” with the “PLEBS ARE NEEDED” spam.

Disclaimer. I didn’t downvote it because I never up‐ or downvote anything. I just wanted to clarify why it might have been seen as not useful for new buyers by some folks. (Though you may already be aware of it. I don’t know whether your post was sarcasm.)

I would be very happy with the missing remakes/versions of the King's Quest and Space Quest games
Thank you so much GOG. I have been waiting years for Caesar II, one of my favorite games from the past! You have made my week! :D

I understand that Sierra only distributed the NOLF games and never had any copyright to them.
One of the owners of the mother company for GOG has stated that NOLF is a favorite of his and he would love to see it on GOG if the legal issues could be settled,so it is not like GOG does not want NOLF....

As to Sierra games, I would love to see the Ultra Pinball, Mini Golf and Lionel Train Town games on GOG.
Add the Laura Bow games to the list.

Please bring more classic Sierra titles!
I LOVE Caesar 3.
I tried the 2nd when I was younger, but it was too complicated for me at the time. Now I may give it another try, about 20 years later :)
The first episode is too old for me, but I'm glad to see it here anyway!
@ GOG officials or people who have already bought

1.Can someone already say for sure if GOG's version of Caesar II is still suffering from the frequent pre-battle-crashes because of a missing/misplaced file, which plagued older hard-disk versions of the game?

2. In regrad to Caesar I, there is the question open if the release is the standard one or the Deluxe one. The latter would includes the RTS game "Cohort II", which allows to playout battles manually by directing troops instead of just giving rough commands via buttons. No hints on the deluxe versios in the release description, but there is a screenshot from battle saying something "Press here to open Cohort II"

Thanks in advance.

The Earthsiege games might be nice in lieu of the rights cluster-copulation that is the Mechwarrior series
Although I think Earthsiege may have some rights issues itself as it somehow morphed into 'Tribes' along the way and then that IP got sold off IIRC

I am actually playing the NOLF 2 downloaded from NOLF revival as we speak, but it just ain't right ;).I am sure you encountered that warm, fuzzy feeling of having such an awesome game on your GOG shelf.GOG did that recently with SWAT 4, and i almost let a turd fly, if you know what i mean xD.Cheers
