groze: I don't know what happened and I won't pretend like I do, but it's clear that they had to find funding outside of Kickstarter. The game got made without the Kickstarter help (after some googling, apparently the game got mostly funded by... PewDiePie, of all people -- check the 'Development' section),
This fills me with great discomfort.

I'm not going to lie, I was upset when I found out about this, too. Not a fan of Youtube "stars", and this Felix dude is the epitome of everything I hate about them

But the game is still pretty good, when all is said and done, and I'm willing to overlook this annoying fact, especially since there's no reference or mention to PewDiePie or any other "Youtuber" in the entire game.

What worries me the most is that I might have just sent PewDiePie money when I bought the game, since he was an investor, even though Bulbware list themselves as the publishers, and, by default, they (and GOG) should be the only ones getting our money.
For those interested - it's been nominated for Golden Joystick award (Switch version):

groze: Well, they *did* promise a Linux version *IF* the Kickstarter succeeded. It didn't, they cancelled it out of fear of not reaching their goal (it honestly didn't seem like they were going to make it). If you're familiar with Kickstarter, if a project fails or gets cancelled, the project creators don't get to keep any of the pledged money -- it's all refunded to the backers or, in most cases, it's not even removed from their accounts unless the project goes through and gets funded --, which means Bulbware didn't get any of the pledged money.
(...)
As a Linux user, you already know the spiel, "Linux isn't lucrative, the userbase is just too small", etc, I won't go into that. It's still a bit odd, though, since the game is made in Unity and apparently that's a very easy engine to "port" to Linux (some devs have ported their Unity games from Windows to Linux in under an hour). Either way, their promises of a Linux build were void the minute the Kickstarter failed.
I'm aware of all that. But I cannot fail to notice that in spite of everything, they managed to fulfill ALL THEIR OTHER PROMISES, including Android and iOS versions, which were part of a stretch goal and not in the base one as Linux was.

Plus, they said they would work on a Linux version well after the Kickstarter was over, and they even produced a beta, but they haven't said anything for well over a year now.

So yeah, I think I've got grounds for being pissed, especially because that was a game I was really excited for.

All these talks about Linux being usually an afterthought (or a dissed goal later on) by a developers strengthens my opinion that sticking with Windows is the best idea.

I don´t intend to start a flame wars, (windows vs. linux), I know Linux IS much stable and also much better option for servers etc. but not for games.

Nor, from my experience, is as user friendly as Windows.
And since Windows 10 is a disappointment (telemetry + forced updates, which is a big no no) I decided to stay for a time being with the next best thing - Windows 7.

What comes later on down the line... we will see.
looks pretty interesting oO i didn't expect it to peak my interest at all
