The ocean will claim everything.

Titanic: Adventure out of Time is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 10% discount until January 4, 2PM UTC.
A former secret agent who survived history's most notorious shipwreck now gets a second chance to relive the days leading up to that fateful night. Engage in FMV conversations, face tricky puzzles, and uncover dangerous secrets that could alter the game's ending, not to mention history itself.

docbear1975: Looks interesting. Wonder if you can actually stop the ship from sinking.

Jimothey: If I recall there are a couple of different endings to this game. I think if you got to the radio quick enough you could, but I always got caught and ended up in a room with a bomb that I could never figure out how to defuse.
They got to the radio quick enough IRL. The nearest ship ignored them.
Never heard of it. But an adventure from 1996 will land on my shelf eventually, no doubt about it :-)

Grargar: Year's last release?
Seeing how "dead" the end of the year always is, regarding video game releases, I also think this might be the last release on gog in 2017.
I remember some fairly positive opinions on this one from back in the day.
Thank you GOG for releasing this. I was thinking just yesterday that I couldn't think of any other games from my youth that has not been released on gog then this shows up that I completely forgot about.

ikrananka: Yet another sale issue - the game is advertised as 10% off and yet it comes up as a 9% discount for me. How hard is it to ensure that 10% actually equals 10% !!!!
avatar
GR00T: I believe this turns out to be a rounding issue. Someone explained it (actually it's been explained more than once), but I can't recall the complete nuances of it.
Ah - I see what they've done, they rounded up the single cents digit from 4 to 9 which makes the discount 9.35%. Why round at all, why does a sale price (or any price for that matter) always have to end with a 9 ????
avatar
ikrananka: There was also a tour feature where game characters talk about parts of the ship, crew and the sinking. Three "tour" characters were included with the game while others (10 in total if I remember correctly) could be downloaded from the CyberFlix website. I still have my boxed copy of the game and the downloaded tour characters on 3.5in floppy disk :)

Perhaps GOG could clarify if ALL of the tour guides are included with the GOG release.
Unless I'm missing something, it looks like only 3 are included. And of course the website is no longer there. :-p

I'm slightly annoyed that the game has this black border around it. Sure does look tiny on a widescreen monitor. e__e

MaxFulvus: I think this game has several endings. At least, there is no Di Caprio in this version ; )
Funny you mention that. I remember hearing about the little sister of a middle/high-school classmate who snapped up this game because she was caught up in the Titanic/Di Caprio mania of the late 90's. Suffice to say, I don't think she ended up actually spending a lot of time with the game after the first five minutes or so. I always wondered how many copies of this game wound up languishing on the shelves of horny Leo-obsessed teenaged girls.

guppy44: I remember seeing this box on the shelf of stores everywhere but never actually playing it. If I recall correctly I once had a demo disc with it. Thank you GOG and Nightdive for bringing this here.
Yes, the demo disc was: titanic - the lost mission. I still have an image of it.

And we will be forever thankful for that.

The website may be gone, but the tour guides can still be downloaded here.

I have waiting for a release of this classic as well as someone fascinated of the Titanic thank GOG for this late Christmas gift. As for the Di Caprio film I still think the Night to Remember is more superior Titanic movie than the 1997 one.
Woohoo! Another game from my youth. My first glimpse of this game came at an Apple Corps of Dallas meeting where I think we won a copy long ago. Alas I don't think it was the hybrid disk version so the mac version(which only runs in Classic/Mac OS 9 and thus not intel) is all I had.

Also a Cyberflix release! More Cyberflix releases please! "Redjack: Revenge of the Brethren" and "Dust: A Tale of the Wired West." I'm not sure if "Lunicus" and "Jump Raven" were released on Windows.
I've been wanting to check this game out as long as it's been released...I finally get a shot at it :)

Thanks GOG for this New Years treat!
Looks as gripping as watching the Titanic sinking in real-time...
