Some games are made to make you smile, fall in love, and get lost in a magically created world, and few games can delight you like Botanicula.

Botanicula, a charming adventure/puzzle point-and-click, is available for only $9.99.

Little feather-fly, glowing nut/bulb, mushroom, fungus, and branch-guy--here’s the party of five little tree-friends that need your help to save their home-tree from evil black spidery monsters. On your way you will find dozens of tree-creatures: reimaginations of frogs, flies, bees, and beetles, all beautifully (and bizarrely) hand-drawn and animated. The whole environment is alive with chirping, buzzing and music. Actually, the whole environment is music--all your actions will be accompanied by symphony of chirps, tweets, growls, hums and gulps, all created by the band DVA, that won the game Excellence in Audio award at IGF.

Amanita Design, authors of Samorost and Machinarium, have created an adventure subgenre og their own: one where the exploration is as rewarding, touching, and delightful as the actual puzzle-solving. The simplicity of controls (click something when your cursor turns into a hand) combined with gameplay that encourages exploration (click everything that turns your cursor into a hand!) and brilliant ideas offer an amazing experience beyond regular point-and-clicks. You will want to find all the easter eggs before solving every puzzle and when you do, you will want to share this game with all of your non-gaming friends as an example of something that will delight and astound anyone.

Kirk Hamilton from Kotaku summed up Botanicula with a number of “100% true” facts. We found his summation so accurate we thought we’d include a few of them here:
* Botanicula is so adorable that it can only be controlled by picking up a puppy and moving its puppy paws on your computer's trackpad.
* Botanicula is so charming that it stole Julia Roberts away from Pretty Woman-era Richard Gere. He was pretty pissed but reported that he "couldn't stay mad at [Botanicula]".
* Botanicula is so clever that it snuck up behind the raptor that snuck up on Muldoon in Jurassic Park. "Clever game," said the raptor.

Botanicula is probably the closest thing to that dream you once had you never wanted to forget because it was so creative and fun. If you forgot that dream, get it back for only $9.99 now on GOG.com.
it wasn't your fault after all
but you guys even took your time to care about your customers

Taking a stand is a good thing. Doing it in a civilized way, without insulting or calling / claiming to do obviously illegal actions helps. A lot.

Don't post in an angry mood. Calm down, have a beer, think about what you want to say and how to do it appropriately. If I'm in such a position, I usually take an hour to settle on what I want to get over and re-read / change it several times before actually posting.

Don't beg. Be it for rep or forgiveness. Nobody likes beggars.
It's okay and welcomed to apologize if you're wrong, though. Do it once, maybe once more in case someone didn't caught / over-read it and is calling you out, but don't beg.

If your opinion is the minority but it's the way you see it and nobody could prove you wrong, don't overthrow it. This makes you look like a bootlicker and even beggars are more respected - instead get back to the taking a stand part.

PS: I didn't down rep you and yes, rep means jack.

gameon: The only reason i keep posting about it is because several individuals are calling me out about it. Just let me be, in peace. And if you dont want me on the site, put it on the wishlist! Whats the point in downrepping me all the time!?
Ignore them, ignore the rep. It doesn't matter, doesn't prove anything and certainly doesn't make you a better or worse person.
avatar
gameon: Yeah, but its getting ridiculous that my rep keeps going down every time i look at it. It means something to me. It feels like people are against me, and i am actually going to say this:

I suffer with health issues, so i suggest people back off. Leave me alone, or feel incredibly guilty about harassing me......
If you have health issues, you may want to stop worrying about completely useless things like rep.

You've obviously never had to deal with genuine mental health issues.

I would politely suggest that this return to the topic at hand (Botanicula) in an effort maintain the civil atmosphere that so many appreciate about the GOG boards.

kalirion: You can also give your whole income to a developer any time you want. All it takes is a check.
avatar
bazilisek: But don't send checks to Czechs. Trying to cash in a check in this country is a nightmare. So in this particular case, I'm pretty sure the developer would not appreciate it at all.
I haven't seen a check in about 3 years now...I can sort of remember what they look like...

gameon: Dont patronise people with mental health issues. Seriously. I need the mods to intervene here.
I apologize, have some rep as a peace offering :)

Guys, has any of you had problems downloading the art book from the link you got in the e-mail from GOG? I downloaded it twice and both times it gives me an error when I try to extract the file.

We all have issues. I would not feel guilty about arguing or contending with you on things you say because of that.

You post you play. As much as we hope for a better world, we are right here right now. You chose to enfer the forums, and you chose to post. At which point you have taken part in this discussion. After that you're fair game, mental health issues or not. If that stops you posting, don't post.

I know that sounds harsh, but I have issues too, and I deal with them, I don't export them.

EDIT: I would extend my point that: there is no justification for those that bully, or intimidate you, If your specific issues are being abused then that is genuine cause for concern and I will support you fully.

Yeah, it's simple rule in any forum. Not everybody gonna agree with you and we all don't know each other. Hence we can debate, arguing as long as the rule still respected.
If you think it's bad for your health, calm down and stop visiting the forum for some moment, just like people stop arguing in real-life. It's actually quite same, only on different medium; the internet. This is legit advice that i read / heard from many doctor out there.

@gameon take a break from the forums , remember this is a public forum so its generally accepted that everyone will not have the same thought on what other says, thinks etc .
on the whole we should just stop quoting him , it seems to get on his nerves.
