The lives of others.

Beholder, a clever strategy/adventure where spying on your tenants is the least of your sins, is now available DRM-free on GOG.com with a 57% launch discount.

As a state-appointed manager, you can't afford to show your tenants any leniency: All their dirty secrets, unpatriotic tendencies, and unlawful activities must be observed, cataloged and reported to the totalitarian regime. If you ever get second thoughts, however, just ask yourself: should your family pay the price for your neighbors' insubordination?

Play as the mysterious ex-landlord and get another perspective on this darkly satirical setting with the Blissful Sleep DLC, launching at -32%.

The 32/ 57% discounts will last until July 18, 4PM UTC.

NOTE: The Blissful Sleep DLC is only available for Windows and Mac.

Spy on this informative trailer.

MarkoH01: Afaik (I played it a few hours durng a Origin Aceess Testabo) it's not randomized. You have to fulfill quests and you have to chose which ones you will fullfill and which you won't. In general what you are missing in game is money and (game)time because you will get a time limit for each quest you are receiving. Some of your choices might end the game earlier than expected but you will have the possibility to reload a game prior to the beginning of a certain quest. IN general it's time management and money management timed with choices in a really dark setting. The artstyle totally fits the theme.
So all levels have a time limit?
So many people complaining about it because they have it on humble already. Well, so did I... on the wishlist. And I probably would have owned it there, had it been drm-free. But it was not.

So I will buy it here, thank you.

What do you mean? It was DRM-free on the Humble Indie Bundle 18.

It's true that the Humble Store only offers a Steam key, though. I hate them for these kinds of things, that clearly show exactly how much do they care for DRM-freedom.
As soon as I saw this game on the GoG page, I thought for a split second, just becuase the game is called Beholder, "whoa, a game like Eye of the Beholder called Beholder!"
Nice to see this game here.

Yes, I thought it might have been something like that. I think they pulled that one with Skullgirls also. Unfortunately for me, I don't usually check their bundles as I often already have several of the games and I would also be supporting drm'd ones.

And yes, most of the new indie games on humble are not drm-free, even when they're also released on GOG. And why wouldn't they do a drm-free version on the store when they are drm-free on bundles? Only they'll know, but it prevents me from buying there. In all my time there I only saw a couple of the games in my wishlist get a drm-free version. And on one instance, after asking the developers, one of the games was actually drm-free for a while already but humble never showed it (so I'm always willing to know whether a game actually has a drm-free installer, even if it's not listed as it on the store; maybe I can reduce my wishlist if that's the case).

playtested it on steam, unfortunately the test version was not optismised, the cpu usgae on a 2.66 ghz quadcore was to high and things got hot 75 degrees celsius on the cpu all the time and cpu usage of 72% all the time.

I have the casualgames developed by alawar and from other devs who publish under alawar, they make good games, the only sad thing is the high cpu on my quadcore, other then that the games they make are good: 9 out of 10.

They are working on another game.... another non casualgame....

As I said there are no actual "levels" - you will get receive different quests during the game and most of them in fact will have a time limit.
