I could never play a game in which I must date men, but I hope others will enjoy this.

Well, there has been a couple of more or less decent looking releases, I guess we were due another anime looking dating thing. At least this one sounds like there's more to it than just making out with your monitor. For this genre, that's indeed ambitious.

The trailer shows you can date women.
This is a game where you don't want Robespierre-senpai to notice you.

Will wait for reviews as I was sorely disappointed before with We The Revolution, another French Revolution game.

"Turn gossip into profit by selling the secrets you learn."
Sold!
It seems really...weird in a good way :)
I played the demo, it was good enough, but nothing very fun for me and I removed the game from my wishlist after that.

I guess nowdays games do have to have gay option for gay people. I find it more of a issue that they think tan on catholic priest makes him POC. Promo image implies Italians (as in catholic priests) are POC just because Americans (or whoelse is dev) can't handle the notion of tan properly.

I didn't know it's a game about Facebook.

Or it's that the devs just gave him a slightly darker complexion to indicate a Southern Italy/Sicily origin.

Might actually give this a chance and pick it up sometime later. Not many games (or none at all until now?) that let you play a scheming and plotting Hofschranze black-mailing and backstabbing her way to the upper echelons at court before the French Revolution.

Well, historically speaking, the French aristocracy was famously promiscuous at the time and sexual orientation and considered taboos didn't seem to matter much.

I felt a lot of French Revolution themed games failed because the developers didn't do their research and only took big names from history, add some France's hon hon hon bonjour bonjour baguette baguette mon ami style of speaking and then end it up with guillotine. Even Assassin Creed France edition had the same problem. Adding young Napoleon Bonaparte just cause.

Really? What about French libelles then?
This kind of gameplay doesn't suit me, I always experience some regret when the outcome of my choice isn't perfect (and they never are in these games). But I gotta admit it looks very ambitious and promising. Edit: Also I love the setting. It was a nice choice.

Some posts have highlighted the (undesirable) "dating sim" aspect but I think the political intrigue is the real focus, rather than the "search for a soulmate".

If I ever feel in the mood for a scheming VN I might buy and play this game. I've played more unorthodox and unappealing-at-first-glance titles before and was pleasantly surprised.

Maybe, but they got promo image with all characters with different skin tone. Kind of reminds me when someone got upset because trailers showed Shantae with slightly lighter complexion, which was mostly due to dev's tools issues rather than otherwise.
