If they're following in Ubisoft's wake, then it will be damn impressive to have two large publishers on-board. Not to mention the fact if EA did join in then there is really no one larger, which might encourage even more peeps.
Anyway, that's the dream I suppose.

True, but both are also paranoid about their respective IP's. There are other alternatives like THQ, 1C (the one that has sale at Gamersgate, we'll hear lot of curses if its it :P) among others.

I know, that's what makes them the holy grails. Combined with their awesome collections of IPs, naturally.

I doubt we will see lucas arts now they are releasing monkey island special edition. Why sell your old games for $10 when you can sell them for what I assume will be alot more when they annouce the price.

LucasArts could quite easily release games they don't plan to do anything with in the foreseeable future while retaining those they intend to make higher profits from; Ubisoft has released Far Cry and Prince of Persia here even though they are actively selling and/or working on sequels. Additionally, since normal license retention issues don't apply to their Star Wars games there are any number of titles they could easily revive which would be guaranteed to be profitable (especially after receiving the GOG treatment to work properly on XP/Vista/7).

You guys should be glad they're not releasing anything new. With the latest strategy promo, my bills are up to my neck already

I always forget lucas arts do more then adventure games, which is a bit dumb on my part because starwars is all george lucas has done for as long as I can remember. Lets hope we do see them in the future it sure would be nice.

We know Revolution didn't want the first Broken Sword on here for that reason, I'd assume Lucasarts would see it the same way -- can't blame them, but sucks for us.
Also the new games would incline more people to buy the old ones, so its double win for them.

An EA addition might bring Clive Barker's Undying to the party, and that would be a good thing indeed.
I'm curious as to when Earth 2160 is going to land, that's been tantalizingly dangling in front of my nose for a while now.
