So this thread is the continuation of the first Regional Locked Games on GOG-thread created by IAmSinistar.

All games that are not available to everyone on GOG will be liste here:
Spreadsheet

There are currently 44 countries (!) affected by region locks on GOG:
Algeria
Armenia
Australia
Azerbaijan
Bahrain
Belarus
China
Eritrea
Ethiopia
Germany
Hong Kong
Iran
Iraq
Japan
Jordan
Kazakhstan
Kuwait
Kyrgyzstan
Lebanon
Macau
Malaysia
Moldova
Morocco
Myanmar
New Zealand
Oman
Pakistan
Palestinian territories
Qatar
Russia
Saudi-Arabia
Singapore
South Africa
South Korea
Sudan
Syria
Taiwan
Tajikistan
Thailand
Tunisia
United Arab Emirates
Uzbekistan
Vietnam
Yemen

Despite the list being way too large in the first place, let us hope it won't grow significantly in the future. Not having that list in the first place would be preferable, but sadly that's really unlikely to ever happen.

It was among the recent blocking spree.

You're welcome. I was actually procrastinating to create the continuation thread since i created the v2 Gogmix xD
Maybe we should make a thread where Germans, Australians and Japanese can trade games, that are blocked in their respective countries. The general trading thread is much to crowded for that.

Thank you very much - i'm merely taking over, you did the majority of the work here - thank you for that :)

Question is if there is enough interest for such a dedicated thread as we already have a trading thread.

When region locking first arrived I suggested an Underground Railroad/Smugglers Cove type of thread for trading across the regions. Don't know if it ever took root, but sounds like it didn't if folks are asking about it still. :)

Yes, but in the general trading thread the people trade keys they already own. My idea is to trade games a different way. For example: I would like to have Dying Light. An Australian could buy it for me. In return I will buy him the games that are banned in Australia.

But you are right, I have no idea how to determine the interest in such a thread before opening it.

I see what you mean but i assume such a thread will a have one problem: The inequality in the numbers of region locked games between those countries. Technically Australia and Japan only have one game locked each - compare that to the number of games locked in Germany....

It doesn't have to be perforce between two region-locked countries, however. You could also get altruists who are looking to buy a game and simply set up a trade in order to get a corresponding game for a region-locked user. I've done similar things when there are sales and folks want just one game out of discounted bundle purchase (where I already own the whole bundle).

I think, the biggest obstacle for such a thread is that the people would have to pay big money for the games, instead of just trading keys they got for free. There won´t be much trust in the trading partner.

Of course that would be an option - the next bigger sale might be a good time to give it a shot - then it's actually possible to find out if there is enough interest in such a thread i guess.
There must be some solution. I promise, I will get Dying Light without pirating it :)

I tried that during the last sale of Dying Light. Didn´t get a single response.

Well, nothing says you can't trade for the game that is publicly available and just help a person out if you're in a non-discounted region and maintain community credit with trusted users.

Use case 1: you want Dying Light and someone else wants TW3.
Use case 2: you want Dying LIght and someone else wants an equal amount of $$ worth of games off the winter sale.
It's awkward, and there can be rounding error losses here and there, but it can work.

What can't work is trading with people in discounted regions. If I buy you Dying Light at its gifting price of $59.99, you won't be able to buy me $59.99's worth of Russian-price games (so, like $200) -- at that point you're better off faking a region by yourself or using the $200 to spend a weekend in France.

PM me the next time it goes on sale. Remind me of this discussion if necessary. I will try to help you out.
