It must have been at least 10 years since I played the demo of this particular game. I don't remember much of it, but it had a 3rd person view and I think the plot was that you were in a dream. I remember having to jump from platform to platform, or maybe it was falling from platform to platform which was floating in the sky..
Hope this sounds familiar to someone...

If it wasn't for the fact that you say it was "at least 10 years ago", I'd say it sounds like Psychonauts. But since that's from 2005, I don't suppose that could be it.
You don't remember any other details? Was it a Windows game? Do you remember who made it? Anything?
well.. I think maybe it might be even more than 10yrs ago. maybe 12 or 13. It was on one of those demo discs that ususally came with the computer magazines back then. But I am pretty sure it was 3D and 3rd person view.. Dunno how common that was back then?
Can't remember much, except for being blown away by the game..!
That really sounds like Psychonauts. Though I'm not sure how original the idea of Psychonauts was, maybe it probably was like it, but older.
Hmm, could you be thinking of Pandemonium?
Hmmm. It sounds like 40 Winks, but that was only on the PlayStation.
"dreams" or something? Never playerd but always liked the cover. Did the main character look like sagat from street fighter?
I finaly found the game i was thinking of. Is it Dreams To Reality?

American McGee's Alice?
That sounds very much like "Dreams to Reality"

Or that dream level from the first Max Payne
I would say, Weird Dreams.

trusteft: I would say, Weird Dreams.

Somewhat too old (1988), not really a platformer, and definitely not 3D.
He played the game 13 or so years ago, that doesn't mean it was released then, it could be older.
Also, he didn't say the game was in 3D.
EDIT: Apparently he did say it probably was 3D on a later post, so scratch that. :)
Not 3D, but Sleepwalker was a platform similar sounding to the original question.

Since he said it was on a demo disc from a computer magazine at the time, it's a good bet it was released around that time.

Unless it wasn't a demo but a full game offer. With the little he remembers about it, it wouldn't be a surprise if he got that part wrong.
