"Activation Patch" sounds a bit like "Activision Patch". I wonder how many people will be shocked and misread it. :-)

EDIT: 10 GB installer (130 MB post release), 2 GB bonus content (all post release). That's also a lot post release download.

I pre-ordered witcher 2 and installed it successfully.

But, I need pre-order code redemption to download contents for free. Is it provided via email? I cannot find the code from GOG's preorder confirmation email nor order summary email.

i'm having the same problem. i got the pre-order price, but only a cd key in the receipt email and at http://www.gog.com/en/page/my_tw2_info

You don't need the code. Just pick the DLC and click 'Download'.

See the email you received when preordering. Click the big button in it.

But the 'Download Message' was not appeared and it did some hours later.

Anyway, Troll Trouble DLC was downloaded and installed, but English language packs are in infinite loop of downloading.

It is downloaded again and again.

So frustrating.

I am so frustrated. I really anticipated TW2 and I preordered digital premium edition, but it just gave me errors so I even cannot run the game. :(

After installation and activation, I tried to "Launch game", but it only refreshes the launcher. I changed screen option (full screen -> window) at "Video and language", but the result is error message like this.

Hey I got the same problem. Spent almost 3 hrs to find the solution:(

1. First set up the settings but don't start the game yet
2. go to C:\Users\(username)\Documents\Witcher 2\config\
3. open User.ini
4. change [Engine] to [[Engine]
5. save
6. Change User.ini to "read only"

Problem solved!

I'm sure it's a bug...not sure if it only occur when the Windows is set in east asian language? I can only find the solution in some chinese websites at the moment though...

And I found another solution. Open the .ini file on notepad, and save as the file format to Unicode, and then change the property to read only. :)

As you told above, it should be a bug only for Asian Windows user. :(

I actually forgot to purchase the game after "preordering". Really weird that it was not billed automatically, which is a good thing. I was just not used to this :)

Hi guys ,I really salute u for this epic game but really why r u not supporting all aspect ratio 4:3,16:10 hold a huge market share if ur not going to release a quick fix for that soon,ur going to loose a lot of sales.If these are not fixed at time then there is no use fixing them,see a lot of comment in various forums lot of people have been put on hold from buying and playing by the aspect ratio.

I dont think its a big deal u just have to modify FOV and a bit of hud stretch.even a quick beta stage fix now would be appreciated as u can make it stable in the days to come.

Other than not being able to enjoy the game properly it has been mind blowing,but only a few gripes,
and these really slap the immersion u get from the rest of the game .

1.)*Who the _ _ _ _ (use one of ur choicest swear word) @CDPR came up with the dumbshit idea that the journal should be from the point of view of Dandelion....it totaly breaks the immersion.in the first game everything was from geralts perspective.

Imagine i complete a task then refer journal :

"I got the Celandil ,now i need to see Shani and help her"

Or

"Geralt Of Rivia has collected he celandils and has to offer help to Shani" WTF

Which is better,why change the thing that u did so beautifully in first game.

2.)Next the inventory is clumsy like oblivion,the first one was so seamless.Especially the enhanced edition one.

3.)Interacting with things of not able to loot the corpse lying in front of me ,would rather have the tiny pointer from 1st game to highlight things than this blind searching , this rather breaks the immersion more.

I dont expect u (CDPR) to fix these thing like in next patch or something but certainly a Enhanced Ed for Witcher 2 should have these Esp fire dandelion as witcher's scribe,also more seamless inventory.

combat is great though i miss group style the most .but real time more than makesup for it!

NOW i may come as a Cynic but im not saying that the game is not Great ,no Its Really GREAT , its as near

PERFECTION than any other Rpg has ever dreamt of,but what bites me is that the thing that prevent it or effing
small things that can be fixed.

So pls fix them CDPR we always have faith in u to fix,Esp ASPECT RATIO FIX need it at earliest.

You have certainly raised the stakes for RPG's now everyone has to raise the bar s well so its going to be interesting ,and fruitful for rpg gamers . So hopefully we wont get recycled shit anymore(im lookingat u DA2 ,bioware). Im thankfull to witcher for that!
