GoG and CDP Red, you're shining beacons of hope for PC gaming and I wish you every success with The Witcher 2. But why oh why did you choose a Tuesday for release date? Friday would have been better, so that we could play all weekend ;)

Crazywaco: Anyone elses download going almost going nowhere?
The API server for the CDN occasionally goes "boink." Pausing and resuming the download usually fixes it. If not, try restarting the program from scratch. If that doesn't work, um, try black magic.

Or the browser download. That works, too. ;)

Ravenvolf: Yeah, same here. Got my cd code but no link to the games. I have viewed the source, plain text and everything under the sun but there is definitely no link in my email.

Kunovski: oh, I'm sorry :) perhaps Venom's answer solved it...
We just sent out the "Order summary" email with all of the info in it to everyone who received the curtailed version of the email. Please let us know if you don't get something in the next few hours.

We will also resend the proper emails soon.
Excellent, thank you very much.
Just thought I would let the great team at GOG.com know I got the new version of the e-mail and it now shows the cd-key and the free game link. Thank you :D.
Do the preorder bonus pack stays in my account forever? Becuase this pack is exclusive for people who preorder it. Does this mean that i need to download it right now en backup it on my HDD, or stays it on my account forever after preordering it?

A query.

Am I allowed to gift my free game to someone, either by choosing to do so or just giving them my super secret hashtag? I don't particularly care for any of the choices, so if possible I'd rather take the opportunity to bestow one of them on someone who'd get more enjoyment from it.

It's fine if the answer is no for whatever reason, I just wanted to check.

I believe you can pass along the link to someone else and gift it to them. Try and it let me know if I'm wrong. :D
Sorry for the duplicate post. I also posted this in the GOG Downloader section, but I wanted to post this here too, in hopes someone in GOG sees this as the form for support doesn't seem to work for me.

I'm having an issue too. I bought The Witcher 2 and that worked just fine (up until the last part that isn't available yet anyway), but for my free game, I selected Gothic 2. I keep getting told that there is a problem with the file and to contact GOG via a link. So I do that, write up my message and get a note saying that my message will appear in about 5 minutes. It's been 2 hours and it still hasn't appeared. So I am posting here in hopes someone sees it.

Thank you!

Tally: It's worth mentioning that the Steam version backs up all your savegames to the Steam servers, which seems to me a major perk especially considering how many playthroughs of the game I will likely do. I've been a fan of Steam for a long time, but the opportunity to directly support the developers and get a copy DRM free was more attractive to me on principle.

StingingVelvet: Am I the only one who doesn't keep saved games anyway? I mean once I finish the game I don't care about them at all. If I ever play the game again I will just restart anyway.
For games like Mirror's Edge where you can replay any completed level, savegames are worth keeping for that. If games don't give any major extras for completing the game and don't have a replay level option, yeah I suppose savegame storage is kind of pointless though sometimes it's nice to just load up and beat the final boss again.

I don't really go back and play single levels or whatever, I always just start over. That's me though I guess.
I am unsure or unable to access/download the free game (Divine Divinity) offered with the Witcher2 preorder. I was never given the option to select or download it; it's not listed as an asset under MyAccount->Witcher2. I'll keep looking for posts or stickies regarding it.

When I downloaded the preorder files for Witcher2, I had to use Firefox to manually grab the files (download via browser) as the GoG Downloader just wouldn't let me login (I am almost 100% certain I supplied the right email & password).

Divine Divinity looks to be the best of the lot (or the most appealing to me), hopefully it works under Windows7 64bit.

I'll keep looking, but any help is appreciated.

Hey you should have gotten an updated "order summary" from GOG.com showing you the cd-key and the link for your free game. But also you can just click on the following url and you should be able to get your free game: http://www.gog.com/en/page/my_tw2_info/
Fantastic, that's exactly the link I was looking for, muchly appreciated. Problem solved.

My Yahoo email account never received it, if it was an email, and it never came up before, during, or after my download. Dunno why ~shrug~

EDIT: D'oh! Okay, it's under another email account. I think GoG won't accept yahoo accounts, which is why on account creation I had to supply a different one. The emai's present there. I should have checked ALL of them and looked for it.

Oddly enough, the GoG Downloader looks to be working just fine with the bonus game (where it refused to allow logins for Witcher2)
