So I just talked with a friend who works at Gamestop.
Here in Italy they have preorder for PS4 at...800€.
Yes, 800€, pretty much the double of the price heard on rumors (it was around 450-550 $).
They have also Destiny on preorder for 80€, not special edition or collector, the "vanilla" one.

Yes, the price isn't the "real" one yet, it isn't official.
But it's very high and is faaaar away from 500 $ of rumors :l

This is nothing new, gamestop always overprices pre-orders when a new product is just announced, so of course this will not be the real price My bets are on a 400 Dollar version and a 500 Dollar version (more HDD space or something like that)

I thought this was "standard" price for pre-orders without a set price, since a customer isn't required to pay more than the price at the time of (pre)ordering.
So if Gamestop (or Amazon, or Game) were to advertise a pricetag of $500, and then the PS4 costs $550, the customers that have pre-ordered will only have to pay $500.

So, set a high price, and when the price is revealed, lower the pre-order price to that, along with what the customer has to pay.

If that is/was true that would be one big LOL not because of the price itself but because of people's expectations xD

After Diablo 3's announcement, I saw Diablo 3 for preorder for 999.99€ in one store. The stores make wild estimates sometimes.

Anyway, I wouldn't put too much weight on a guesstimate price.

Well could it be, that they don't even know the actual price yet? I'd assume they put the pre-order price quit high in order to tone it back, as that's much easier to explain to peopl that sellin pre-order with 400€ just to notice, that you have to tell peopl that the actial price is a bit higher.
