macnol: Today, Chloe and Allistair were interviewed simultaneously by the Gamers Against Bigotry website. It's worth a read,

http://gamersagainstbigotry.org/2013/05/chloe-allistair-roundtable/

Yeah, it comes off a little bit forced from both sides in an effort to make it seem all rainbows and unicorns, make peace and forget everything that happened... but, looking at the irrationality surrounding both extremes of this debate everywhere on the internet right now (especially on twitter and other troll-infested venues) maybe that's exactly what we need.
Thanks for the link. I hope some good can come from all this...

SirPrimalform: Yeah, I'll agree about the forced part. I also don't like how it seems mostly to be about Allistair outing her and not the massive massive fraud she tried to commit. Well, I'm glad she's ok at least... but she's still incredibly manipulative and I'm certainly not inclined to forgive her yet (not that I'm implying my forgiveness is something she should care about or even be aware of).
Yeah, the way I look at it is that Allistair successfully got guilt tripped into thinking he made the wrong decision with outting Chloe, and in return Chloe gets away scotch free and gets a group hug. Seems way too soon for this IMO. Without any sort of repercussions or discouragement scammers tend to keep scamming. No offense to Chloe but it wouldn't surprise me if she tried to do the same thing again after all of this.. a group hug doesn't seem to be the best way to handle it.

I do hope she gets the professional help she deserves, I just don't think internet press or people over the internet are going to be able to offer the right help.

I know it might not have occurred to you, but you don't have to read the topic.
This is fantastic, the internets strikes again.

I have read bits and bobs, but can someone give me the tl;dr version of why his/her master plan ultimately went tits up? I read something about a botched surgery?

Nah, I wait for the news that she's dead because of this ongoing internet drama and digging her personal life, round tables between two people and other things, and I wonder who will you all blame when this happens. Not yourselves, that's for sure.

Because you want that. You want the bloody finale. This is why you simply can't stop posting.

Right, because obviously the round table discussion happened because of people in this topic! And of course all that digging into her personal life we're doing! All we know is what has been in the news, we haven't done any digging.

So to sort of answer your 'question', no we won't blame ourselves. Chloe is most likely unaware that this particular topic even exists.

You added this while I was replying. That is completely uncalled for and quite a horrible sentiment. -1 to you sir.

I still want to know how the round table between two people looks like, though. Because both parties are sitting in opposite to each other anyway.

That's the most interesting thing here.

Don't say his/her, that's insulting. Pronouns relate to gender and gender is not to do with chromasomes but to do with identity, thus if someone says they're a she, you call them she.

But anyway, I don't think there's any botched surgery and she wasn't dying. It was a scam to raise money for gender reassignment. It went tits up because she owned up to IndieGoGo and they pulled it. She owned up to a bunch of other people but kept them quiet with the threat of suicide. When she attempted anyway, a man named Allistair outed her unceremoniously on Twitter (not something I agree with).

It was three people.

I said "his/her" because I did not know who she identified as. However, in any case, I do not think that saying "his/her" is insulting. Self-identification is only part of the debate and definitely not the ultimate answer to the question of gender.

Anyway, thanks for the update. Did not know that the entire thing was pulled in the end.

Blaming another for one's choices is idiotic. Airing a suicide attempt on the internet is both unduly dramatic and extremely hurtful to those who care about the individual.
Chloe is reaping what she has sown. Given that the moment she steps out the door, her persona changes, she could walk away from this in an instant by leaving the internet be. Blaming others for her attempt(s?) is as idiotic as you reading this thread from the pedestal you are perched on and huffing the way you are. Get over it or more on :)

If it appears that I am being insensitive to the transgender issue or her mental state, that is not my intent. I am insensitive to both issues being used to excuse her dishonesty that took advantage of compassionate people. I am perplexed as to how someone can get away with the crime as she has, and am concerned the message this sends to others.

One of my best friends is transgendered. He is pre-op and is currently saving up AU$8000 to go to Thailand for the first surgery - a double mastectomy. There are means to get such surgeries done without resorting to fraud and theft.

And even if there weren't, not having money for something necessary doesn't entitle anyone to defraud people.

@ne_zavarj Please leave me out of the discussion as I have nothing to add. You commented a second time on my post. One time should be enough.
If people want to know they can always scroll back to you quoting me the first time.

Well hey, isn't that what you did in the post I replied to and the post I'm replying to now?

No they can't, because all those posts were edited. I was curious, ne_zavarj explained, everyone moved on. It was fine until you came back four days later to revive the subject. So yeah, I'm the one derailing things obviously.
