Hey everyone i'm making this a public thread for now instead of contacting support directly right away as i think if it's a general problem there may be others encountering the same issue as I am and also maybe there is already a known work around.

Currently I (this account) can't be contacted by others through chat unless i have contacted them first. For them it appears like i have them blocked or as they are forbidden to contact me due to privacy settings (they experience a 404 Page) and can't contact me at all. After i wrote them a "starting" message they seem to be able to contact me just fine. (My Privacy settings allow all contact - i have attached them). I also set my Wishlist to public but it can't be accessed publicly either.

As i had a nickname change like 2,5 months ago i assume it may be connected to that? Can anyone confirm/deny that? Or is the chat problem a "common" problem? Also are there others in the forum which experience this problem or is this exclusively connected to this account ?

I first wanted to use this thread to "collect" some data/information before I/we bring this matter to support in details.

While I can't speak to your particular problem directly, there has certainly been a change to chat in the last day or so. I was just able to send PMs to a user here, after having major crash issues on Firefox during the prior few weeks. So GoG is most likely tinkering on some stuff behind the scenes and it's very much a "work in progress." On the bright side, while it might be annoying short term I'm hopeful for you that it gets resolved!

I think the previous "Chat Issue" thread of Crewdroog's helped Support narrow down the issue, so here's hoping that if enough people are experiencing this bug this thread does the same for your issue.

ne_zavarj has changed her nick about a month ago to Painted_Doll. I just tried "Start Conversation" and "View Wishlist" on her avatar and got 404. But I don't know what her settings are. You might want to contact her and ask.

Do report here if the issue is somehow resolved, for it may be relevant to my own issue (cannot access the friends page since 22 May 2015; I get only gogbear).

As always with these kind of problems, start by refreshing your account:

https://www.gog.com/user/refresh If the above doesn't work for you, change current values of both settings (privacy and wishlist) to some other option, then revert them afterwards and see if it helps. It's a long shot but it doesn't hurt trying.

1) From what I recall, ne_zavarj is a he, not a she. May be mistaken though.
2) While the https://www.gog.com/u/Painted_Doll/chat results in a 404, the https://www.gog.com/u/ne_zavarj/chat one does work. So it seems like the chat links database is not updating correctly when a user changes their nickname. Not sure how easy the fix is, but it shouldn't be too hard.

Cheers - i already had tried the refresh thingie before but will also try it in combination with the "reset" of the the privacy settings now. Would appreciate if then in a few minutes a "stranger" tries to contact me via chat to see if anything changed

I just tried it. Still got the 404 page.

I noticed that the chat doesn't work at all for me. When i click on "chat" from the "Account" tab i just get a blank page and it doesn't even try to load the chat.

Also whenever i hover over someone's avatar i just get a box saying "Sorry, data for given user is currently unavailable. Please, try again later.".

I have never changed my nick here so apparently it's a general problem.

Strange. Both (chat tab and hovering over someone's avatar) works fine for me. I'm using Firefox 40.0.3.

I'm using Firefox 29.0 so that might be the problem. :D
I never bothered to update because with each new version Firefox became more bloated and slower.
