Release the Lynx!

Shelter 2, in which you'll live out the day-to-day of a mother Lynx, is available now to pre-order for Windows, DRM-free on GOG.com with an up to 20% discount!

In Shelter 2 you'll give birth to your little cubs, raise them, teach them to hunt, and to brave the cold wilderness. It's an absolutely unique concept in video games that's only been explored in the original Shelter (are we wrong?), but never quite to this extent. The sequel includes a much more vast terrain to discover, new gameplay elements with more freedom than ever, a variety of prey to hunt, and a deeper level of interaction with your little ones. Shelter 2 is a sight to behold, a climactic painterly experience that you won't get anywhere else.

By pre-ordering the game, you'll get the game's soundtrack and an exclusive skin absolutely free! Also, if you already own the original Shelter, you can take advantage of the fan-discount for a combined 20% off.

Enter the wild once more in Shelter 2, a unique gaming experience available to pre-order on GOG.com. The pre-order discount will last until Monday, March 9, when the game is expected to launch on GOG.com.
Oh my goodness, it is just a Wednesday and two good games I´d want.
Wishlisted and thank you, GOG :)
Hopefully for the second one the developers did some 'research' on the animal of choice.

On the first, they confused a badger with a helpless weasel (which is how the game more accurately portrays you; an escape artist). Apparently claws, sharp teeth, and an aggressive temperament never came into play. And if it was suppose to be a honey badger then it was done all wrong. I was looking forward going toe-to-toe with a bird of prey, watch a few videos to see what they can do.
Let's see if they can make this one as depressing as the first one.

Still no match for a dachshund! :)
I liked the first one so eventually I'll get this one too... I don't like pre-orders though so I'll wait for a release. But then again - most probably it won't be instabuy for me.
Developer says the game will be released not only on Windows, but Mac and Linux too.
Check the Shelter 2 page on Steam for more.

I'm not going to pre-order, here's why.
1. I don't pre-order, ever.
2. No info if Linux version is going to be released on GOG.
3. If I pre-order, developer gets my money counted as a Windows purchase.
=If Linux version doesn't sell according their stats, they might stop making them for financial reasons.

So, I will wait for more info ;)
Uh, I wonder how this will improve on the first game.
Shelter 1 seemed nice (I saw an LP), but also very short and simple for my tastes.
Then, the graphic was interesting, but I'm not a fan of those bright colored strange textures.

Hah, I may have to agree with you on that.
It will be great game.

JudasIscariot: I think (don't have all the details on this exact game as I just got done working on Oddworld and am getting Republique ready :D) that both the OST + skin will be treated as one DLC. Don't hold me to that just yet :)

IAmSinistar: That's fine, I'm mostly just curious, not concerned. Just wanted to make sure you highlighted all the included goodies to help folks who are on the pre-order fence. :)
That would have been me and my gf on the fence, thanks for helping us over, we have now pre-ordered. HAVE to have that skin, and always love to have soundtracks if they exist. Still trying to beat Shelter with no-deaths (haven't spent that much time trying.)
Sorry GOG.com but you're wrong :)
Sanctuary Woods already explored this concept in the 1994 video game Wolf and 1995 game Lion, where you take on the role of said animals looking for food, prey, shelter and survival. The games featured sandbox modes and quest-driven scenario's.

Anyway the concept IS pretty cool and I hope Shelter 2 turns out to exceed the expectations.

I would like the skin I was supposed to get for pre-ordering now. Unless it is already there and I somehow missed how it is implemented in the game?
