Retro City Rampage, a modern twist on classic arcade games and open-world story-driven adventures, is available for pre-order on GOG.com for $14.99.

Get in the car, drive, kill somene, avoid the police, find the police, get out of the car, ROCKET LAUNCHER, pedestrians drop coins--collect the coins, punch a cop, KABOOM, get underwater, jump, fly, CONTRA LEVEL, ride a bike, flamethrower, METAL GEAR! Plus a NES-inspired monophonic soundtrack by Freaky DNA (Leonard Paul), virt (Jake Kaufman), and Norrin Radd (Matt Creamer). Isn’t this everything you’d ever want from an indie game but couldn’t find anywhere?

Retro City Rampage is a mashup of genres, arcade challenges, pop-culture references, crazy ideas, wild humor, and open-world modern game mechanics. 50+ story missions, 30+ arcade challenges, 25+ weapons & power-ups, and special guest stars are more than enough to satisfy any retro-fanatic who decides to start a RAMPAGE OF DOOM through Theftropolis and defeat the EVIL GOOD GUYS.

Retro City Rampage is available on GOG.com for pre-order for $14.99 and will be released when you carjack the ‘80s at 88 MPH (or within a few weeks).
Release date has been corrected. Sorry about that, guys.
July 1? For real this time? I've seen this game getting delayed three times now since 2010, and before this it was supposed to come out this month.
Good!
Thanks, GOG!
Now stop raping my wallet! :P
Another month!?

Much better, but jeez!

I'm exploding with anticipation on this game!

(The Soundtrack does NOT help. Its awesome. X'O)
Hi guys,

Please note that the 1st of July is just an approximation. The exact release date for Retro City Rampage is still unknown.

I apologise for the confusion.
Preordering Retro City Rampage on devs site gets you a DEM free copy and a Steam or GOG key. Preordering from the developer's site allows more money to the dev team.

Is there an actual official quote for this, or is this just "well, you pay them directly, so they obviously have to pay less to GOG and Steam for those copies, because for some baffling reason GOG and Steam take a smaller cut if it's not bought directly from their stores" deduction?

I mean, it very well may be so, but it sounds kind of off..
Whoa, what sort of madness is this?

I'm pretty sure I saw this trailer before and thought it was a hoax. Looks amazing!

I've also had this pre-ordered for some time. Good to see it coming to GOG!
cool to see this game on GOG, been watching the trailers for a while
Been keeping an eye on this game for awhile and was going to get it when it came to XBLA, but what a pleasant surprise that it's coming to GOG! Will pre-order on GOG instead as soon as I get more "Golds". :D
I've been wanting to play this game for ages. Good to see it coming to GOG as well!

The commercial is solid gold.
I am keen on this game but I'm kind of worried about the tiny pixels. There are a lot of things going on in those screen shots, it looks like it will be really easy to lose track of your character/register what's going on on-screen. Also, I don't dig the faux-border of the old TV. Other than those visual complaints, I am really looking forward to this game.
I don't mind playing older games which have old graphics, but what exactly would someone be paying 15 dollars for with this game? Visually it looks crappy.
I wasn't really sure about a purchase. A little too much retro for my taste.
But I had to order it after I read you would get a gog copy as well. 3 copys for less 13€.
