Cathedral is now available for pre-order.

Make your way through more than 600 rooms, and unravel the secrets of your past by finding the five elemental orbs. The orbs, placed in ancient times by the demi-god known only as Ardur, is protected by five fearsome guardians. Make your way through their dungeons, meet them head-on in combat, and see if you can best them!
Actually, I think that Yacht Club will congratulate Decemberborn games if the game turns out to be as good as it looks. Yacht Club Games love the era they have come to emulate. Yacht Club Games created a masterpiece while citing their inspirations openly.
Sure, the sprite background set, font and colour scheme looks remarkably like that of Shovel Knight and the way you can collect items and use those items as a jump point is quite similar, but Yacht Club Games did not invent that mechanic and they don't claim to have invented it.

I hope it will be good, though it will be quite a feat to top Shovel Knight!

htown1980: This looks hard. Maybe too hard for me.

Weird comment from Zoidberg. Its hardly the case that Shovel Knight invented this graphics style.

Zoidberg: Oh come on, it's quite clear from the trailer that it isn't just the graphic style! FFS, open your goshdarn eyes! :D

And yeah, sure, call me aggressive instead of providing counter-arguments to my ripoff claim.
I didn't call you aggressive.

I just think you're ignorant (possibly wilfully) about how video games iterate on each other and that you're comments are weird.

No, you just happen to disagree with me, ignoring arguments and attacking the person.

But hey, that happens a lot when people want so much to be right.
This game looks like a metroidvania with outdoor areas and towns.

Perhaps some similar (structurally, anyway) games would be Castlevania 2, Battle of Olympus, and some later Wonder Boy games (not Dragon's Trap, which was more hub like in its structure and had only one town).

In particular, look at the world map.

(Note that this is very unlike Shovel Knight, which feels more like Mega Man, albeit with a world map like that of Super Mario Bros. 3.)

Zoidberg: So, 8-bit Shovel Knight and this is NOT by Yacht Club Game?
Well, ignoring the fact that this game appears to be a Metroidvania (unlike Shovel Knight), isn't that a good thing?

SylvesterInk: I'm going to have to agree with Zoidberg. The sprites and general artstyle are shockingly similar to Shovel Knight. (The music feels somewhat similar too, but I think that can slide.) In any case, I'm not going to judge until I know more about the game and details behind it. (There were plenty of games that ripped off Cave Story for graphics and style, including the early Momodora games, that eventually became their own.) Still it is rather questionable.
Then again, this game is structurally disimilar to Shovel Knight (just compare the maps of the two games!).

Have you only played a couple games? These themes span the last 30 or so years! Jaja, such noob!
I say this game, Minoria, Shovel Knight & Rogue Legacy remind me more of Capcom's Ghosts & Goblins / Ghouls & Ghosts series more than anything else.

what arguments have you made that I have ignored and how have I attacked you?
Of the games that have been announced recently, I think this is the one I'm most looking forward to.

Everything is there, just reread yourself. :)

You're confusing an opinion with an argument and a valid criticism with an attack.

I'm going to add "monologue" to the list of words that don't mean what you think they mean....
