On a side note, I created a thread a while ago asking for peoples favourite artistic pieces and it only got a few replies. Yet, there are so many impressive animations and photos on this thread that I'm going through them a few at a time.

Look at how hectic my desktop is. All those icons.

(And, yes, I'm one of the infinitesimal people who actually likes the Vista Sidebar. WE ARE THE 1%!)

I was fine with the Vista Sidebar, though I feel that Rainmeter does all that, and more, with less resources used and better customizability. The issue was never the Vista Sidebar, the issue was Vista.
