It was nonsense. I was suggesting that you might want to actually say something as opposed to making 'educated' points.
It was a metaphor. dirtyharry50 said, almost verbatim, that this is obviously about family. Others have seen the issue as being (equally obviously) about culture, trust, obedience, freedom... They're not just coming up with different answers, they're ASKING DIFFERENT QUESTIONS. They look at this situation and see different things.
I did not have much more to remark upon at that point, so I left it there.
Now I'm wondering whether there are people in this thread who see others' perspectives AND are wrong at the same time. It's trivial to imagine a person understanding where others are coming from yet knowing better...
We seriously thought we did. But they turned out to be horses. Us British aren't as up on our farm animals as we thought.
