For those who don't know the release of Lesuire Suit Larry 1-6 has a version of Larry 6 with the SVGA/Hi Res files stripped out because according to support "Unfortunately it didn't run swiftly on all of our testbeds so we had to discard that version.

GOG.com Support"

So it seems that they couldn't get that version to run properly so they cut the files out of the release.

Look I get not wanting to release or support a version that doesn't work but what I don't get is just removing the files out right if they were originally in the release your using in the first place you can and should leave those files in and just run the version you can run sorta like what you did for Carmageddon.
Agreed...
Stripping the files completely isn't cool IMO

I know right? honestly I wish I thought about that for the whole "what can we do to improve question" for that 500 giveaway.

Ah well at least I put it on the community wishlist

I really should of put it a and instead of a / but ah well.

I couldn't agree more.
In fact, it's THE reason why I've decided to put off buying the pack for now. Last time I checked, Larry 6 SVGA runs perfectly fine under DOSBox...
They should really. I mean if they have a thing for releasing Larry.. It really should have latest shit. =) Also the shit features fecies, kinda.. Well nothing. ^^

*looks witcher 2 playboy pics* Seems about right.
Really? Removing parts of a software you sell because you can't get it to work is like a bookseller ripping pages out of a book because they don't understand that part. Please stop doing this.

Box Office Bust? We don't need no stinking Box Office Bust! (no Magna Cum Laude either)
Another day and I'm wondering what else GOG will remove just like that, because they say so, without any prior warnings ...

First - Atlantis soundtracks
Then - Mac version of Imperial Glory
Now - THIS

What the fuck GOG, what the fuck...

EDIT: eeem... from OP post I understood that it was there and then it was removed, but from other threads about that it seems GOG never included these files.

Well those, but it needs a Love for sail thing.. If I remember it wasn't bad. And re-reliasing stuff, They should have it all.

It's a different thing. GOG took a CD release and stripped out the SVGA edition of LSL6, because it runs like shit in ScummVM. It runs fine in DOSBox even on a netbook, but that would require testing. And putting Larry as the 500th release was apparently reason enough for rushing the package.

Sounds weird.. Wouldn't they just `could put svga in extras?

Sounds like they should forego ScummVM completely and re-release the full package with DOSBox instead.

They really should but I have a feeling they wont as they also got to make sure they run properly on the MACs as well

There is a DOSBox for Mac, the guy who maintains it it a GOG member.

Oh yeah that's right but doesn't GOG just use a stand alone version of Boxer instead or is that just the same thing. I have little to know clue on the MAC end of things.
