I'm surprised I haven't seen this bought up before. I've read a few threads and posts that have turned unpleasant from from users that abuse, harass and even bully other users at times. So I've made a wish list for forum moderation. You can vote for it here. http://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/moderate_the_forums


I'm not going to name anyone or post links to any threads in particular. Also yes I am fully aware from those who know that that I myself would probably be guilty of breaking a few rules here and there. Still I believe good moderation helps.

I would encourage this for anyone that hates me because the second moderators show up I'm out of here.

I disagree. Blues usually react when somebody clearly crosses the line. I believe that things are good the way they are.

In my opinion, leave the mods out**, it rarely ends well. Of course it would be nice to have somebody who has been given the task of eliminating forum spam***, but that would be it. Although not perfect, the community does balance itself out more or less and is generally one of the best communities around.

**Unless GOG wants to hire me, then it's a good idea.
***Speaking of which, hey GOG I'm available if you need that spot filled!

Good moderation costs money, unless of course you get some volunteers to do it for free. Costs mean higher prices.

Compared to a lot of other sites I just don't see the need here at this point in time.

I've seen smart-ass comments sometimes, usually all in good fun. I wonder what you classify as abuse, harrassment, or bullying. I can't say anything comes to mind here. Try visiting the GTA V forum!

My problem isn't the idea, it's the a-typical result. SPAM is one thing but there are so many judgement calls to be made and I don't want some uptight asshole showing up and telling me I can't post my mouse necro pic. I remember the 1st time I ever used IRC; the Mods were 'supposed' to be rational but inevitably turds showed up who started chucking out anyone that didn't emulate Mr. Rogers or Bob Ross.

Oh it might be fine for a while but one day I'd show up and tell someone (probably a friend) that they are full of shit, and POW I'd get kicked.
