Hi I have recently joined and was wondering if there are any platform games on here? I like these games like Jill of the Jungle, Forbidden Planet, Commander Keen etc. Not the first person shoot em up games.

I don't see, Oddworld or Terraria in that list. I hate platformers but love those! :D

There are some - Crystal Caves, Monster Bash, Secret Agent and Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure from Apogee. Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure was subtitled Forbidden Planet, I am not sure if that is the game you were thinking of.

I expect the Commander Keen games will turn up soon now that Bethesda is on board. I am not sure why Jill of the Jungle is missing given that we have other games from Epic on here, but you can vote for it on the community wishlist.

I wholeheartedly recommend Oddworld: Abe's Odyssee, Oddworld: Abe's Exodus, Rayman Origins!

Terraria isn't really platformer, It simply has elements of it.

you mean like all the platforming that the majority of play is based around?!

well, on those grounds, I suggest the OP try the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series because they are nothing like any kind of FPS game.

Those are my favorites on GOG. All of the Apogee platformers seem decent as well, I liked the Duke Nukem and Dangerous Dave ones and plan to grab some more eventually.

If you like jill of the jungle and commander keen there is a lot here for you. Just look at the recommendations in the posts above me. I am very fond of Hocus Pocus myself.

A couple of "Metroidvania"-style platformers not mentioned so far:

Yup, "Dust" is awesome, although it has as much combat as platforming. I suck at action games and platformers, but I loved this one.

Escape Goat and Blocks that Matter are both puzzle games with some platforming elements, but the main focus is on the puzzles.

Tetrobot and Co. isn't a platformer at all. It is 100% puzzle (and actually one of the best puzzle games there is, but it might not be what ollieogg is looking for). You just click where you want your character to go and he moves there by himself. No jumping and platforming involved.
