Great news for those that bought the InDev version, and still good news for us that are patiently awaiting a full release as it means that they're still updating the game and not sitting on their asses, so that means the game will actually reach a full release!

Will, or might? Bannerlord has been going for what 15 years now, and still no end in sight.
When will the offline backup installers be updated?

Well, after Dark Alliance turned out to be a piece of crap (going by most reviews I've seen) and that Magic the Gathering Diablo clone got cancelled before going out of beta, there might be some pressure for at least one game based on a Wizards of the Coast license to not utterly fail :D

This means you have never heard of Larian Studios. They have done EA release for DOS too, to really listen what the community thinks about their features, and DOS is one of, if not THE, best RPG of his kind.
So, there is NO doubt the game will reach a full release =)

Played dark alliance a bit, just the first level or two. It was the control system that really irked me. Either auto-target or fly past enemies. Also seemed a bit difficult in terms of doing things. It certainly had scope, looked nice enough and levels were not linear as such. Perhaps after some patches. But yeah, not in top games to play this year. Didn’t even know about that MtG game.
Nice! I was thinking about this the other day wondering when it was gonna drop. It's time for another playthrough to dig into some of the really exciting changes they made in this update.

Soon. It's in the queue and will be released when it's ready. Check back often, but it might be a couple days.

The last major patch took them a few days if I remember correctly.
Has everyone been able to update to Patch 5? I am at Patch 4 and when I click the 'Update' button on the BG 3 page, nothing happens.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thank you in advance.

I was able to update fine. I saw the update post here on GOG, and hit check for updates in Galaxy and it started and finished. That was about 20 minutes ago when I made my first post here.

Hitting check for updates in Galaxy doesn't do anything?

Go into Galaxy and under your installed games right click with your mouse on Baldur's Gate 3, and hit check for updates. It should start up immediately.

I usually dislike turn-based combat and I'm sceptical about pre-releases but this really intrigues me. Wishlisted for now, have to think about it bit more.
ill wait until it is finished :P

I'm normally with you on the pre-release skepticism, but I have full confidence and trust in Larian Studios from their previous Early Access games. They genuinely believe Early Access helps them make better games, and we help them by playing through it.

I can't say much about the turn-based criticism, since people like what they like, but if you think you can overlook that then really consider giving this a shot. They made some changes in this update in particular that should make the turned based combat, the dice rolling, and other things even more fun for people.

Baldur's Gate 3 is basically setting a new standard in CRPG's with it's story telling, role playing, immersion, and visual fidelity. There's a ton of content in Early Access to experience (limited to Act 1), and even more will be coming in future updates. I think it was the previous update the big addition was the Druid class for people to check out (which is super cool by the way).

Don't worry about getting burned or experiencing too much from playing Early Access either, because a lot of Act 1 is being withheld and or will be changed. They know there's people with literally hundreds and hundreds of hours on it.

I think it would be better and faster simply reinstalling the game. Rather than patch it. In my experience, anyway.
