true enough, but our funds did go to IMPROVING the game.
Probably (definately maybe) not the place for this but...

I got Div Div as an add on (have the CD version still).

1. When it downloaded, it installed, but I cant find where the installer is for future reference, will I always have to d/l it if I want to reinstall or is there a way around it like with GG game downloads.

2. Will my CD saves be compatible with this Larian HD version does anyone know. I can get the saves to load, but I'm not sure they are high res, I dont think thy are.

Thnaks for any help, probs wouldnt get read in the game forum and its not a gog game technically :)

If you run the DownloaderDiv_EN.exe program again you can check the download location without needing to start the download again (it has been awhile, but I'm pretty sure it remembers the previous location if you change it from the default, though if you did change it you would probably remember where).

In XP the default download location is

C:\Documents and Settings\ %username% \My Documents\LarianVaultDownloads\Div_EN

in Win 7

C:\Users\ %username% \Documents\LarianVaultDownloads\Div_EN

There are some compatibility issues with the disk version saves in the download version of the game (some people have reported that the game crashes trying to load the disk saves, or it will load them, but then saving the game afterwards will be disabled). If the disk saves load and you can still save, then you should be fine continuing with the same game.

The Larian Vault version of the game is the same as the current GOG version.

BTW, there is an update for the GOG and Larian Vault version (and the anthology DVD version) that hasn't gotten an official patch yet: music fix. I don't think the main Larian Vault install program has been updated to include this yet, either. Check the version number in the bottom right corner of the main menu, and get the update if it is less than 1.0062 (if it hasn't been updated yet it will be 1.0061, IIRC).

The game version is the same between the Larian Vault and GOG (etc), so you could have posted in the Divine Divinity series forum.

1.Found it, thanks heaps Raze! :)

2. But, if the saves were in 1024x768, and I import them into the Larian Vault version, which is set at 1280, will the old save display in 1280 resolution....my new character seems more crisp and clean compared to my old one?

Thanks for the help...especially the d/l, its so cool to have a back up now :)

The screenshot shown as the game is loading depends on the resolution it was saved in, but once the save is loaded there shouldn't be any difference in image quality between a disk or download made save, as far as I know. I have not noticed any difference between new characters and using my old disk saves to check something, anyway.

Did you try removing the equipment from both characters, and have then stand in the same location (so they would be on an equal footing), and see if you still notice a difference?

No, I didnt, I just loaded up a character from each and had a look and wondered about it, I still have the old game installed, so i'll make a new character there and then compare them.

Thanks for the continued help raze :)
Well just realised i buggerred up and my pledge failed a while ago (for various reasons). Anyone know if theres anyway to be able to still pay for the kickstarter at all?

Dunno, is Paypal still up?
The toolset/editor for this game should really be the best thing. Technically speaking modder should be able to create scenarios where you don't just start with the guy/girl couple but create an entire party Icewind Dale system. The potential for remakes of older games and new stuff is huge

If you log into kickstarter, is there a 'Fix payment' button in the banner at the top of the screen? If a pledge fails you only have 7 days to fix it, so it is probably too late now.

Unfortunately, Paypal pledging closed yesterday. There are upgrades being made to the Larian Vault to allow people to manage their tier rewards and add-ons. When that is done in a few weeks, you might be able to pre-order the game (don't know if that will be possible right away) and add stuff like alpha or beta access, t-shirts, etc.

The total pledged from kickstarter and Paypal combined was US$1,029,934.

Even in the main campaign you can customize the gender and appearance of both of your main characters.

Hell yeah, US$1,029,934 is great!! Can't wait to play the game!!

And I'll probably add an add-on when they're done with the LarianVault upgrades!

Do you happen to know what the total amount raised ended up being (with Amazon/Kickstarter fees and failed pledges substracted)?

You could try contacting them via email - kickstarter@larian.com - and they might be able to sort something out. Or you could try the forums, although I suspect they'd suggest trying that email as well. Hopefully they'll be able to do something for you! :)
