Hey guys,

is it just me, or is it, that most of the recent releases on GOG aren't "good old games" anymore, but more current indie games and titles from the last 5-10 years. I'm missing more games from the 80s/90s, which GOG once stood for.

There you go.
There are still quite a few old games that get released, it's just the "good" part that's a constant struggle.
Did someone turn on the JMich signal?

Yes, and he can cite numbers for as long as he wants. The relative value of the old games that get released these days is what's up for debate. Who cares if old games are technically being released if most of them are crap?

Isn't the crappiness of any particular game rather subjective?

Thank you. Thank you. Given the recent events, It's reassuring to see that some things at least will never change.

Fear not. I hear some good ones are in the making.
Did someone say, "Backlog?" These lulls in releases leading up to E3, is a great time to catch up, not raise a stink.

Why do people have to make this exact same thread every few months?

One, GOG hasn't been "good old games" for a long time now.

Two, the fact is that GOG has already released most of the old classics that aren't mired in legal bullshit about the rights to sell them. They can't exactly pull "good old games" out of thin air or sell them without the legal right to do so.

Three, GOG releases at most a few games a week, including indies, so a few weeks without any old releases is to be expected now and then.

Four, "good" is subjective. Personally, I don't care about games like Conquest of the Longbow, but I'm sure some people are very happy to see them come here. Just because you don't like recent releases doesn't mean they're not good.

To be fair to the OP: s/he didn't complain about the (definitely subjective) quality, but about the quantity of old releases.
The complaints about the quality came from Chacranajxy.
