Well, it's published by Paradox. No surprise there.

But! http://www.gog.com/news/paradox_interactive_now_on_gogcom
None of these are new games.

This is about Paradox, not newness. Just a matter of time, then. See ya in 3 years on GOG, Cities Skylines.

I think we'll have better chances when Colossal Order's previous games, Cities in Motion 1+2, arrive here. The first, at least, is available DRM-Free on FireFlower Games.

Oh, that's really cool.
With Paradox anti-piracy system, it's highly unlikely we'll ever get their new titles on day-one (even when Galaxy will be out):

Steam-only? Well, no chance of getting my money then.

Yep, they probably don't care. Yep - I don't care that they don't care. Still not getting my money. :)

Colossal Order do care, they're one of the friendliest devs in the business (in my experience, that is). I am quite certain it's Paradox's call to have it steam only.

But logistically, it's easier too, since there's gonna be DLC and the game has integrated mod support.
Don't worry, you'll get your Skylines.

In 2025 when the game is no longer supported and they're onto bigger and better things. I've had hope that that the new publisher deals would push them closer to day-one (or day 60 for that matter) releases for GOG, but it doesn't look like that's happening. Steam has integrated way too far into game dev at this point, what with Early Access and Greenlight. Steam has provided the atmosphere and created an entire network that begs for exclusivity. Though I loathe them and wish they would implode like the Death Star, it's actually a very smart business move.

I was calling Steam a console for PC way before it was cool.
