I sent a job application last night for a position in a very nice company. I would really love the position, although being a realist, my Software Engineering background / studying is not really in line with a marketing position.

Yes, right now for me as well. Feeling like I have so much to do but they are all competing for the same prime time. I have 2 hours of free time each night from 9:00pm -11:00pm but I can't do much in the dark or when my family is asleep. So, I sit and debate which game I want to play for 30 minutes, read some news for 30 minutes and then go fall asleep in my recliner. I'm turning into my grandfather and I'm not even 30.


Off topic: Good lord. Why do all the major cell phone carriers require data plans on a decent phone? I don't want a freaking data plan but I would like a phone that looks nicer than the one I had 10 years ago.

Well at least they can't deny you by saying you're OVERQUALIFIED, eh what? ;)

For me(personally), I know what I want to do(Or what I can choose from.), but I either lack the motivation to start(Due to my damn OCD shite I have to read everything and see every nook and cranny while playing a game if I can[Among other things.]. This leads to tons of problems when playing or trying to play through some more open-worlded games, along with those with multiple choices in missions/levels/etc, where you have to play through many times to see everything or do everything. As such I feel disinclined to even want to start some games knowing I will have to go through all that when playing, or even if I think it might happen if I play something.), or I say i'm going to do it but get hooked on other stuff(news on yahoo/reading the comments, 4chan, etc.) and keep putting it off until i'm too tired to even attempt what I originally was trying to do in earnest.

I point it out mainly because that thread is marked solved and pretty much empty now, and am thinking people might not even ever know it's there(what with how I posted to that thread instead of making a new one and all.).

So I was thinking of making a metaphysical life thread. Dunno if it's the correct term, but it would be about stuff like: what faith(if any) do you proscribe to and has it changed your life(for better or worse...and if it did then how)? Have you gained any insight into the non-mundane world because of it(and if so what kinds of insight)? Have you ever had a "supernatural(metaphysical?)" experience or know someone who has?......stuff like that.

I know religion/faith/etc is a touchy subject but I think if I laid some ground rules at the start and worded it right(and people behaved) it could work.

Although I like the idea, I don't think it would work simply because people can't behave. Usually it's because a) someone has very strong opinions and isn't afraid to express them, b) someone hasn't got particularly strong opinions but comes across as an arrogant bastard because they fail to/couldn't be bothered to express themselves properly, or c) someone gets provoked by a) or b). It's happened before.

Well if I did it i'd probably set ground rules (Like Frater did in his D3 thread.) like people could just post an answer/reply to the OP post, or if they were allowed to reply to other posts they couldn't bash anyone else(or their beliefs) or try to dominate the thread with their viewpoints while doing so.

I'd like to think GOG could do this in a classy way, unlike some forums. Plus if anyone was too unruly a staffer could intervene(If they absolutely HAD to.....it wouldn't be like I was telling them to do so or anything, and I wouldn't be making the thread just to give them more work in the way of threads to police/etc.).
