GameRager: Find a part time or entry level job in your field, and do the musak stuff on the side. Then if it takes off switch to musak full time.....or go full time serious bzns work if the musak route tanks. Either way you'll be set.

kavazovangel: Ye, that's exactly what I've been planning. Anyways, waiting until the 29th, this month, for Windows 8 Consumer Preview to be released, so that I could start working on my thesis. Once I'm done with it, I'll have to make the great decision of staying here in is POS country and do Masters studies in the only viable university, or leave the country and also leave my girl :( and go to some Western / Northern European country and do the Masters studies there, hoping that I'd still be able to keep the relation ship with my girl healthy.

Dammit, again! :)
Why do you need Win8 to do your Thesis? Just curious.

But yeah, it sounds like you're stuck between the proverbial rock and hard place. Too bad you can't afford to room your GF with you in another country. :\

My thesis is titled "Developing beautiful, content-oriented applications with the Metro design language and the MVVM architectural pattern". I can use Windows 7 as a base and do a few Metro-like desktop applications using WPF, but since Metro will be heavily included in Windows 8, it is logical for me to use that OS. The Dev Preview wasn't that much good, so that's why I've been waiting for the Consumer Preview. March, April, May, three months to finish my thesis, I'm aiming to be done with it in April.

Affording a room is not impossible, it would be even more possible that way, but she still has three more full years left for an undergraduate degree in Medicine. That's more the problem...

.. Thanks for the replies! :)
No problem.....thank YOU for even replying(This thread gets more tumbleeeds than replies, sadly....though I DO have my usuals who drop by).

BTW can't she transfer her credits or whatever to a new university in the country you decide to go to(if you choose that route)? Just a thought.

We haven't talked much about it, but few months ago, she was going to transfer to another city on a different university, but due to differences in the program and some administrative complications, she decided to stay and finish the undergraduate studies in her current university (this decision is also valid for universities in other countries).

But, hey!, I guess I'll have to talk to her, since leaving the country at that time wasn't in my mind, but now that it is, there may be a chance. Thanks for that! :)
Well my roleplay is about to go live in 8-10 hours.....everyone wish me luck, eh?
Good luck with your roleplay.
Thanks. I, for one, hope it doesn't crash and burn like the Titaniburg.

Woe...just....wow......i'm gone 3 weeks and we get Soulbringer AND Anachronox....along with 11th hour/Journeyman 3. Also new titles like Cryostasis(Laggy but fun, from what I played of it) and Still Life 2(I played it and while it didn't quite sync[Imo]) with the end of SL 1 too good I still enjoyed the play style and puzzles.).

And OMG.......are those INDIE games on GOG as well(Especially Grimrock which is coming soon)?!? Will wonders never cease?
Cant wait to try Grimrock looks cool and a lot like how an rpg should play in modern times.

I am waiting for it with much anticipation.......though I still wish someone would make an RPG more like Arx Fatalis as well(indie funded and developed I mean.). I like Grimrock's style btw....not dissing it or anything.....I just like a more meatier RPG experience sometimes too, know what I mean?

Also OMFG.......A NEW WANTED LIST?!? Nostradamus was right....the end times are swiftly approaching.
My wife is about to give birth to our second child. It's customary (or at least she is expecting) a gift in the hospital from me. Does anyone have any suggestions? I previously gave her a necklace. I'm not sure if jewelry is the way to go on the 2nd time around.

I didn't want to create my own thread so I figured I would use this off-topic one!

I don't know. I can tell you congrats when your child is born. :)
Take the money you would spend on a gift and put it into:

- education fund
- up the life insurance for the two of you
- diapers : )
- "Here you go, honey - I got you a new baby!"

I know, I'm a killjoy. Congrats, tho!
