Barry_Woodward: It's been a while since the last batch of releases. You would think Disney would want to capitalize on the release of THE FORCE AWAKENS. What's the deal?
This is exactly what I was going to post. You beat me to it. lol

Anyway, I agree. Now that Episode VII has hit theaters, now would be the perfect time to release more classic Star Wars games on GoG, and there are several specific ones I'd absolutely love to see. Like Shadows of the Empire, Battle for Naboo, Episode I: Racer and Battlefront.

Actually, I'm honestly surprised we haven't seen anything new regarding classic Star Wars games on GoG this week. :/ What are the chances we'd see these gems released on GoG in the near future? I'd love to own them again.

Oddly enough, I was considering getting Battlefront (recent release), but when I found out it too had a $50 season pass over the base $60 price and read several reviews where people were saying it was 'meh', I decided against it.

I'm going to be playing some Elite Frontier as soon as I get my HOTAS gear.
Gog should try releasing Shadows of the Empire game.

That was a pretty good star wars game.

They already do, the amount they could get from GOG is peanuts compare to what they make now.
Seems like the Force isn't strong with GOG, after all.

If it was at all possible to make it work on modern systems, they probably would, but it has been almost completely unplayable since Windows XP. Cutscenes don't work, gamepads don't work, music doesn't work, it crashes constantly (if it even runs), when it does run, it runs too fast... it's a real mess. There has been a lot of fan work done over the years to make it compatible (replacement installer, alternative DX wrappers, fix patches) but it still isn't even close to stable. The GOG guys are pretty good at what they do, but SotE is likely beyond even their skills.

"beyond even their skills"? OK, now that's an unfair statement. Keep in mind, this is a company behind The Witcher 3. Could it be instead that it's probably not a profitable venture and their engineering department could be focusing their attention elsewhere?

GOG =/= CDPRed. They have the same parent company, but they are separate entities with unique staff.
The only ones I care are already here!

hmm... maybe Episode 1 Racer and (yes, really) Yoda Stories...

Point well taken, but I don't think it's beyond their skills. :)

Any other game and I might agree with you, but SotE has an almost legendary history of incompatibility like no other game. For over a decade now, there have been enormous efforts to get the game running and all have failed to work fully or reliably. Just look at this detailed how-to on running the game. Even with all that effort, it is repeatedly mentioned the game is not likely to work and even if it does work, it will have numerous problems. If GOG had access to the game's source code, they might (and I stress MIGHT) be able to get it to work, but GOG rarely, if ever, has access to source code.
Would be nice to see the Lego Star Wars games here perhaps? Either the Complete Saga that exists on Steam or the first and second seperate (aka the DRM-free versions).

EDIT 2: Removed edit

OK, read the article. Any Windows coder worth their salt and a belt full of tools would be able to identify the problems easily. I still think GOG could make it work without having to eat hexadecimal code and spit out the bits.

...and by the way, the assembly language *is* the source code, if you know the language of the machine. ;)

Prah: EDIT: Also we're missing out on the Star Wars Rebel Assault games as well, right?
Wrong.

Oh weird, they didn't show up when I searched for them :S

But thanks for pointing this out!
