So far, Ive not had ONE game work "out of the box" ... I know most of the ones i download are older games, but SHEESH!

By comparison, I never have this issue with steam. I'd prefer to use GOG, just because I like the community, the retro-games and I always support a "niche under-dog" ...

I'm rooting for you GOG! C'mon!

EDIT: Icewinddale 2 worked through GOG. My sample size is only 5 games so far, and may not be representative of your experience. I've been building computers for over 25 years and am a fairly advanced user; I'm mindful that most often the problem is with the user's configuration (mine), but if the port was more robust, it could adapt to various configurations and systems.

Did you check to make sure your OS(type and bits[32/64]) is supported by the game, and did you check the game's store pages/reviews/subforums first to see if anyone was having any issues with them? If not you should always do that first before buying.

(Such subforums also have guides for some games on how to tweak them to run better or do other things)

Also if the games don't work you can check the subforums for possible fixes, ask questions in the general forums(with properly worded titles of course including the name of the game), and even send support a ticket to get help that way.

Many GOG games are broken due to bad galaxy integration needing response, that you are either online or offline… From this reason try turn off firewall. I had many problems, before I found it out!

Update: Some old games also need DEP turned off in system setting for them.

PropterHawk: snip
I see Icewind Dale 2 Complete and The Temple of Elemental Evil are working on your system . Do you have problems with Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition ?
What OS ?
What's the problem exactly ? What happens when you try to launch the game ?
Hm, I se that you`ve played more than 100 hours in two games of the five you own. So at least 40 % of your games work. That`s not "none of the games work"

''I always support a "niche under-dog" ...'' This line made me laugh since GOG is rejecting games for being ''Too Niche''

Well he DID say in the edit that some games work....likely he jumped the gun and typed it out in the heat of the moment(at least I am hoping that's what occurred here). Now as to WHAT games he means....well, that's why OPs should stick around a bit to see if they get any replies when making threads.
If you're using gog galaxy, you could try to download and install the game without galaxy. Besides answering Pouyou-pouyou's questions would help us to understand your problem.

I have "a lot" of digital games and have only had a few that didn't work, most are just to old to work even though emulators or wrappers on modern systems or it was a limitation on the engine design. If you could provide a list of what doesnt work that would be helpful to figure out whats going on.

IWD2 is based of the Infinity Engine, all early 2000's titles using that will also work then. I have IWD 1/2 and OG Baldur's 1/2 plus the combine them together mods for seamless play and it works fantastically... along with planescape. I also have countless Aurora engine games and a few Electron engine games running on Win10x64 R5 2600 64GB 2070RTX
UPDATE: I ran compatibility mode on Dragonage and got it to work ... For "temple of Elemental Evil" I found a "front-end" called "Circle of Eight Modpack" ... Temple will only run if I launch it with the front-end-mod.

Usually nothing. The "PLAY" button is greyed out and I cant even find a running game process. "Temple" flashes an errormessage for 1/2 a milisecond and it disappears before I can read it.

Using a front-end-mod (circle of eight) I can get it to run.

This is just my trash-laptop* I use when feeding & rocking my baby (6 month old) ... so I'm just looking for old-school, slow, strategy, story-based RPGs

In which case I wouldn’t use galaxy, or even have it installed. Download the offline installer files, keep them as backup. Install from those the game to a folder not in windows, e.g, c:/mygames
Run the game from the shortcut. This will prevent any conflict issues with mods.
As for games not running, this would need to be on an individual basis, all can have different problems/solutions. Look in the game sub forum for specific information, or pcgamingwiki.com, or alternatively if it still does not work contact support assuming you meet the requirements.

To be fair, when it comes to Temple of elemental Evil, I would say that Circle of Eight is an absolute must. I'm glad GOG has the original ToEE, because it allows me to have a legal copy of the game.
