Crosmando: Not really, Daedalic's games are mechanically sound in terms of puzzles and gameplay, but the writing is mediocre and often cringe-worthily bad, especially in Deponia. Not sure if they just lack good writers or it's a problem with the translation from German though

keeveek: For me, Deponia or Harvey's New Eyes are like 100 times better than Back to the future or Jurassic Park bullcrap. And I see nothing wrong with the writing.
Maybe there are some things (themes, ideas, gameplay styles, etc.) that don't always translate well across countries.

Never played any Telltale games, so I can't really comment, but compared to LucasArts or Sierra adventure games, or even Blackwell, the writing isn't good

Edit: Puzzles are good tho, especially in Chains of Satinav, they aren't too easy but just "logical" enough that you don't want to rage quit

Oh, somehow I thought you were reffering to "only Telltale can make a good grim fandango game", sorry...
Night Dive on Homeworld.

Yes, I think above I forgot that they said they weren't going to publish it, but they expected it to show up on GOG. Too bad they don't know what's up, though!
I hope whoever got the rights to Homeworld also got the rights to the expansion and sequel.
Telltale making a sequel to Grim Fandango is a really bad idea. Just bring the original to GOG.

As for Telltale vs. Daedalic, I'm not a fan of either, I much prefer Wadjet Eye and Double Fine, but regardless of the writing, Daedalic is defnitely the more original studio, so doing a sequel to someone else's game would fit more with Telltale. :P

I hope that Sega got the rights, so they can make Relic work on another Homeworld.

But no! Sega never (and we don't now if they ever) published on GOG!

I don't know what to hope.

It really doesn't need a sequel afaik, and with ResidualVM it's a snap to get working on modern machines, afaik. So yes, hopefully it comes here with other classic LucasArts titles, and not just onto Steam and co.
The guys trying to get the rights via Kickstarter failed, which I knew would happen because $50k is not enough.
Gearbox now owns Homeworld. Step one of their master plan? Homeworld and Homeworld 2 on digital distribution platforms.

And by that they likely mean keep it on Steam.

Fuck.

Hopefully Night Dive can bring NOLF eventually, however.

Yeah, I dunno. Strange. I wonder if it's something more "sinister" (well, for us GOGgers): Gearbox and Valve co-conspire against GOG to release Homeworld exclusively on Steam. On the other hand, we do have some 3D Realms games here, and Gearbox came from the ashes of 3D Realms - maybe GOG and Gearbox could still build a relationship.

Hey Americans on GOG ...Texas Road Trip!
