Since GOG was made available in German I'm receiving all the newsletters and stuff in German. Would it be possible to have a way to change it back to English? (Unless there already is one that I haven't seen?)

I'd like to support this...in fact, I'd like to be able to set my preferred language on the whole gog.com site. Being forced to all of a sudden read everything in German without having been asked whether I wanted this beforehand smacks very much of ea practices where I can't even change the Origin language.

This is a good way of losing me as a customer as ea has already done.

edit: a bit later...found the setting on the main page but nowhere else...together with the currency that was reset to euros as well instead of $.

GOG has posted a temporary workaround here until they fix the issue:

But seeing your location, I guess it would affect Switzerland and Austria as well.

How is it all the people complaining about this (and there are several; three separate threads last time I counted) are just assuming it's a deliberate action on the part of GOG? A company not even based in Germany starts sending out their newsletter in German and it doesn't occur to anyone that it might be a glitch or a bug? :P

I did this a while ago and still have gotten the newsletter in German. :/

People and companies like gog are supposed to test changes like these before implementing them

but I can see that this change doesn't even affect you so why are you even in this discussion?

It's the job of comedians like me to ease the tensions brought about by uptight people like yourself. :P

Always assume this when dealing with GOG.

/me shakes head at "very useful" response

/bows out...have the stage to yourself
Yeah, let users select their language in their profiles too.

Just because your area code (IP or current location) is Germany or France etc. does not mean you want the newsletter or any other details in this countries language.

Just assume all people speak english.
Why?
Because you did before you added other languages to your mainpage/support etc..
Aye, I'd appreciate not receiving newsletters in some randomly assigned language.

Yeah, I'm really getting the "well-meaning careless amateur" vibe from GOG now. :/
German newsletters are best read aloud, waving your arms like a wildman. And ended with an arm up.
