But only cockroaches are resilient enough to survive in a Wasteland world. ;-)

Damn my fear of cockroaches, I doubt I'll survive long in the post apocalyptic world. :)
Seem to be running into issues in windowed mode, cursor gets stuck in a horizontal bar about 20-25% of the height of the screen. Anyone come across this?
the issue I was having seems to be reproducable in some resolutions by swapping to different tabs in windowed mode a lot, but not always reproducable.

Aside from that the optimizattion looks good, a lot has changed since i managed to get a good play at it, part of me regrets my choice to go to highpool first now though.
Release date confirmed:
Official Wasteland 2 release date... September 19th! The 20+ year wait is soon over.
Well, 26 years if I'm not mistaken.
I just realised the beta needs 30 gig of hard disk space. I assume that is not all game files?

I haven't played many "modern" (non-indie) games. I am always surprised when a game is over 1 gig...

Mostly textures of 3D assets. Not sure if inXile has further compressed the existing textures.
30 gigs? Is that a mistake? Not that I'm hard up for hard drive space I'm just surprised as I've had brand spanking new AAA titles with gorgeous visuals taking up less space. Never mind a turn based RPG that looks like it's from 10 years ago (not that I'm complaining - I can't wait for the game, just surprised is all).

Quite often when beta testing it helps if you have the textures (or sounds, or tracks, or whatever) as single files instead of archives, so if you need to replace one of them, you don't need to touch the others. So it's a simple case of replacing one file instead of unpacking, replacing, repacking.
And the packing can also compress them, depending on the engine.
I'd be happy if we had the inofficial Wasteland sucessor already:

Ah that makes a ton of sense - thanks, didn't know that!
I liked this game, but... There are two major problems with it: 1. It's a pretty unknown, (let's be honest) mediocre game and 2. There's no English translation! #1 could be reason enough for GOG to reject it, but #2 is the real show-stopper.
Not that GOG hasn't used community patches before; but I can see how a fan translation patch might be beyond the pale for them.
