The time has come to relieve the beginnings of one of the best space flight simulators saga ever created.

Wing Commander 1+2 is a pack containing the first two parts of the acclaimed space flight and combat simulator series by Origin. With this bundle you’ll get an introduction to the epic military conflict between The Confederation and the Kilrathi. Although the war between humans and Kilrathi has lasted for 20 years already, you're just making your presence. As a young pilot, straight from the academy, you’ll either become humanity’s biggest hero or the biggest zero as you're posted on Confederation's flagship - Tiger's Claw. With a cinematic approach to the storytelling and great 3D gameplay, the Wing Commander series is a must-have for every self-respecting gamer.

TPR: Whoever wants expansions please "reply" to this post with full quotation and to another with this and another... We'll make really long post with our demands.
FYI quotes nest about 3 layers deep in GOG-code before they break.

But, yeah, I'm with you. I actually have the expansions, but I don't want to risk purchasing this version where they might not be compatible.
No expansions? No sale.
For me it's a shame that the expansions are missing and I'm inclined to hold off for now in the hope they are added. (catch 22 I guess, if more buy they might be able to get EA to do something)

I had WC for the Amiga and played it till I hit a bug with an invisible asteroid and just couldn't move on :( so I'd love to go back and play it and also WC 2
Guys, it turns out that getting the rights for the expansions for the EA games is very, very, very complicated. While we are (of course) working on them, the rights clearance will not be resolved any time soon. In the mean time, though, two classic games that helped define the space shooter genre for $6 is nothing to sneeze at.
I don't understand Gog's politic. They sell the complete Might and Magic with expansions, and a very short WC... Perhaps EA is not easy to negociate with...

Don't let the naysayers get to you guys. I've been waiting almost a decade for someone to rerelease WC2 in a playable form.
I believe that as soon as the expansions' rights are cleared, the GOG dudes will add them automatically to the "crippled" base games - they have a history of such gestures.
Damn you, bills to pay! My Amiga glory days are crying to be relived!

Of course I'm happy they are here. I'm just waiting until I know at least HOW to get those expansions. So I'm not buying anything (yet) but I'm happy :) I would buy if I knew that I can eventually get them (and they will work with the version included here) even if it's from some other EA-supported site for zillions of dollars. Especially that Secret Missions tell the story happening in between WC1 and 2 (and are much more dramatic than the original story, and the difficulty, and... c'mon this addons are really important here!).
GOG rocks...!! i was so hoping for this

Sure. I understand your position - But frankly, I'd be happy enough to pay $10 for the two with the expansions. Without - Not interested.

I agree. Thank you, gog, for getting us Wing Commander. Hopefully you can get the expansions soon, sure, but in the meantime thank you!

As someone who knows on a professional level just how tough and lengthy the licensing process can be, thanks for trying and a huge thanks for acknowledging everyone's concerns instead of staying silent about it.

I still plan on purchasing the games and I'm sure sometime down the road we'll see the expansions released thanks to your efforts. You guys haven't let me down yet and I'm sure you'll continue the trend!

I really appreciate finally getting an honest, straightforward statement with no PR bullshit. I know GOG are not to blame for the missing expansions, and I really appreciate your efforts in getting the EA games here. But I'm sure you understand why buying a 20-year old game is highly unsatisfactory when it's not a full release with all the existing content.

At least we know now that we shouldn't hold our breath for the expansions and that they might never come, which is very unfortunate. I know you might not be allowed to discuss any details, but could you try to explain in general terms why the legal situation for expansions is so much more complicated than for the main games?
I think GOG should have licensed the Kilrathi Saga versions of WC1 and WC2. It would have been harder to hack to work in Windows XP or 7, but it would have been worth it. The music and sound effects were converted to digital and sound a lot better than the AdLib music that most people will remember.
