Today we present you with an epic package for all of those who miss Sosaria. After showing you the grandfather of all space-sims (Wing Commander 1+2), we will now introduce you to The Most Fascinating Interactive Adventure of All Time!

Ultima 1: The First Age of Darkness requires you to battle the Dark Wizard Mondain and his minions who seek the destruction of Sosaria. You must face the evil master and his creatures, and make him retreat to his evil lair where you will ultimately destroy him and save the kingdoms of Sosaria!
Ultima 2: Revenge of the Enchantress picks up on the story of the first installment in the series. Minax, an apprentice of Mondain reigns terror and destruction on the land of Sosaria. Blinded by her fury, she has torn the fabric of time and space which resulted in portals opening through the kingdoms. It's your duty to stop her and undo her evil deeds!
Ultima 3: Exodus let’s you travel throughout Sosaria with a group of adventurers rather than on your own. It also features large, detailed locations with many characters to talk to. Discover the famous Yew city and travel through moon-gates to face the spiritual child of Mondain and Minax. Defeat the titular Exodus and save the kingdoms of Sosaria once again.

The wait is finally over, the original Ultima series has finally landed on GOG.com, it’s up for grabs for only $5.99 for the whole trilogy.
Aged horribly, but it needed to be there for history-of-videogames reasons :)

Buckid: Akalabeth (...) extra(...)s(...)?
I demand Cook and TET to man the 'I won - phone hotline' (415) 569-9126 as part of the GOG extras if that game's added *grins evil and teases*

Pemptus: Key words are "ultima" and "forever".

gyokzoli: I know but I'd like to see it in my GOG collection.
Not to mention that some of us are not familiar with running DOSbox. I was hoping that IV would be on GOG already set up with DOSbox so that I can just click and play as usual. Maybe EA and GOG are planning on releasing IV as part of another 3 pack later on?

Ugh. I was hoping EA wasn't going to nickel and dime us too badly on the Ultima series, but I guess not.

Are they going to sell Ultima VII in two parts as well (and lacking expansions, I'll just bet)?
Can we have IV soon please? :-P
I wont purchase any EA game. The EULA is inacceptable.

All (or almost all) GOG games have EULA.

I have to admit to being a tad surprised that they didn't include 'Akalabeth' which EA included in it's Ultima Collection, and is considered the forerunner of Ultima.

I'm sure we'll get IV, V, and VI bundled, then VII Complete, and VIII separately.

Did IX get any better after patching?
Anyone know if these are patched? If not, can the fan patches be easily applied? I've heard that certain versions of Ultima II cannot be beaten because of something to do with map files or something, and I think Ultima III has a few bugs too.

EA's EULA says that they can revoke the license whenever they want, aomngst othe nasty things.
I dont see that in any other GOG's games EULAs. Am I mising something?

Somewhat. It was less crash prone and not as glitchy but it still ran pretty inconsistently even on hardware that was a wet dream at the time the game was made

Thats just a boilerplate disclaimer probably copied & pasted from one of their new games, once you've bought it the games are still DRM free so the only way they can take it away is to come around and steal your hard drive

Not nice, but as long as they don't also get the means to enforce it ... I guess I don't really care.

I'm not excited about the U1-3 bundle (especially when you compare it to the M&M 1-6 bundle). The first three games at $5.99 might be attractive for collectors, 'completionists' and people who want to relive their childhood memories (of which there probably are quite a few here on GOG) but I bet nowadays you can find much better freeware RPGs to waste your time with. But anyway, if it means we'll eventually get the complete U7 and U8, too, I consider this good news!

Great addition. I don't think I can bring myself to play these anymore, but if they go on sale, I'll probably buy them just to look at the box on my virtual shelf and read the manual. Yes, I'm that strange. I'm just a sucker for videogame history and love to collect these oldies.

On the other hand, I think I would play VII, VIII and IX.

I think the whole Ultima collection with 9.99 would have been more fairer offer.
