Today we present you with an epic package for all of those who miss Sosaria. After showing you the grandfather of all space-sims (Wing Commander 1+2), we will now introduce you to The Most Fascinating Interactive Adventure of All Time!

Ultima 1: The First Age of Darkness requires you to battle the Dark Wizard Mondain and his minions who seek the destruction of Sosaria. You must face the evil master and his creatures, and make him retreat to his evil lair where you will ultimately destroy him and save the kingdoms of Sosaria!
Ultima 2: Revenge of the Enchantress picks up on the story of the first installment in the series. Minax, an apprentice of Mondain reigns terror and destruction on the land of Sosaria. Blinded by her fury, she has torn the fabric of time and space which resulted in portals opening through the kingdoms. It's your duty to stop her and undo her evil deeds!
Ultima 3: Exodus let’s you travel throughout Sosaria with a group of adventurers rather than on your own. It also features large, detailed locations with many characters to talk to. Discover the famous Yew city and travel through moon-gates to face the spiritual child of Mondain and Minax. Defeat the titular Exodus and save the kingdoms of Sosaria once again.

The wait is finally over, the original Ultima series has finally landed on GOG.com, it’s up for grabs for only $5.99 for the whole trilogy.
Nice Release

Oh. My. God. The wait is over. I can finally expect my most favorite RPG of all time, Ultima VII.

GOG, now you'd best not disappoint me. Gimme my favorite game!

ChaunceyK: I looked at the Ultima 1+2+3 page here on Gog. I just hope everyone has a high-end computer to run those powerful graphics & store all that data...

Minimum system requirements: Windows XP or Windows Vista, 1.8 GHz Processor, 512MB RAM (1 GB recommended), 3D graphics card compatible with DirectX 7 (compatible with DirectX 9 recommended), 2GB HDD, Mouse, Keyboard.

...really? Really?? REALLY??!!
Indeed I chuckled when I read that.
Now we got Might & Magic, we're getting Ultima, hope the last of the Big Three of CRPG will also show up soon: Wizardry

Then again, I will probably have to quit my job just to finish all these great games. To avoid this, I just wishlisted the games since I still have to finish World of Xeen & Swords of Xeen
I might buy this pack on principle, since I want more games from the eighties here. Besides, I've been thinking about trying to play these properly for a while, simply because of their importance. And judging by what I've read about them they're a bit more user friendly than for instance the early Wizardrys.

What I'm really interested in, though, are the later games in the series. And the Ultima spin-off Savage Empire. For some reason I'm really keen on trying that one. The setting really appeals to me. If I'm super-lucky, GOG will offer both Martian Dreams and Savage Empire in one pack... that would make me one happy fish/helicopter.

Then there's also The Bard's Tale series (although it's a bit shorter) + SSI crpgs.
Give me Ultima 8 + Lost Vale. I repeat, Lost Vale !!!!!!! Now that something.

I received Ultima 8 CD-ROM (with voice) with my Sound Blaster (along with other games, Space Quest, Sherlock Holmes, etc).

Nice one, but I think it won't happen, but this would be awesome and good for both GOG and EA.

I guess that it would have powerful impact on sales, if it could happen.

These look a bit too dated for me but I will probably still pick them up and try them eventually.
I am so glad more '80s games are trickling in.
Great games that helped to define an entire genre of gaming.

The key map seems to be missing from the documentation for Ultima I, however.

It can be found here:

Have fun saving Sosaria!
Okay, so I caved in and bought them, and I'm playing Ultima, and I actually think its not that bad actually.

Its not soul-crushingly hard like Might and Magic 1, and I think I've already got the hang of it.
Great to see the Ultima series coming to GOG. I won't pick up the first three games unless they go on sale, though. $6 is just too much for ancient games like the first Ultimas or the Zork Anthology. I think a new price point of $3 would be useful here.

I see the word dated thrown around alot in this newspost. This is good OLD games. A site for people who dont care about the age of things... Or in some cases, people who prefer old stuff. All you other people, this aint the right place for you. Go play on steam. (Nothing against steam, but I hate how this site is being filled with people who aint really out for what this site is all about.)
FINALLY!!!!! I've been waiting for an opportunity like that - buyin' on the spot...
