‘This traytur name is Robyn Hode,
Under the grene-wode lynde;
He robbyt me onys of a hundred pound,
Hit shalle never out of my mynde.’

-Arthur Quiller-Couch, ed. (1863–1944). The Oxford Book of Ballads. 1910

If you’re a fan of either stealth tactical combat or green tights and goatees, you will love the fact that we have just released Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood for $9.99 into digital woods of GOG.com.

The good King Richard is held prisoner, the evil Prince John tyrannizes the people, and you’re the only person who can change things for better. As Robin of Sherwood, the legendary outlaw, you will face the Prince and and his minions with a fistful of arrows and a heart full of courage. However, a small group of merry men (+ Maid Marian) with special abilities and attributes will help you explore, infiltrate, and complete several types of missions in historic locations such as Sherwood Forest, Nottingham Castle, Lincoln, York, Leicester, and Derby.

Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood was developed by the studio that also created Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive and Desperados 2: Cooper’s Revenge. It combines strategy, ambush, spying, infiltration, and hand-to-hand combat perfectly and delivers it within a simple and highly intuitive interface. Missions range from robbery and infiltration to “castle attack,” and ambush, and they fully utilize all nine characters’ specific abilities. The world of XII-th century England is alive and visually spectacular with beautifully rendered graphics, detailed environments, and realistic atmospheric conditions like day, night, and fog. However, the best thing Robin Hood has to offer is a great authentic feeling of being the most righteous thief in human history.

Anyone who’s into team-based strategies or is interested in the legend of Robin Hood will more than likely enjoy the game, especially when it’s a DRM-free, packed-with-goodies GOG.com release for only $9.99.
Good stuff. A lot of the new releases have been first person, making them unplayable for me, but this looks great :D
Is this as hard as commandos? Because i tried commandos once (the expansion) and couldn't even figure out the first step so i though never mind back to the FPS i was playing at the time...
Those looks interesting but I really need to try Commandos some more first.
Wow, this a must buy for any fans of the genre.
The price seems to be a bit high though.
I really like the idea behind GOG.com, but the prices seem to high for me for new releases of realy old games!
I bought this game from Steam 3 months ago only to find out it has serious performance issues on W7 machines. The game lags so bad it is almost unplayable. Does the GOG version suffer from this too?
Am I reading wrong or...:
download size 236 MB

And in Download manager it says 1283... pls fix your typo GOG :)
Interesting...I remember seeing and reading about this game a long time ago but never had a chance to play it, so it's great that it's here on GOG

Wishlisted

Also: This was the first thing I thought of when I read "Robin Hood"

Very good game.
Doesn't seem to work better than the Desperados' under Wine, I pass.
Interesting release, looks like commandos - wishlisted for now.
This looks like it'd be interesting. Wishlisted. Thanks, GOG!
YES! YES! YEEEEEEEEEEEES!

Thank you GoG, I've been asking for this game for ages!

This is one of my favorite games, I beat it 4 times and I could do it again easily!

I managed to get it to work at normal speed by changing the text size on Windows (I think to medium) which seemed to work. YMMV though as some people say that changing their desktop settings makes no difference.
Strange coincidence, two weeks ago I visited my parents and brought this game back with me so I could replay it one of these days.

Once again, an excellent game and a must for any Commandos and Desperados fans. All we're missing now is Helldorado. I agree however, whoever own the rights to these games could have made the price more competitive, for the same price you can get both Commandos: Men Of Courage and Destination Berlin.
