Just watch some youtube videos. If it even interests you a little, go for it. All you have to lose is literally pocket change on the deal right?
It's basically Duke Nukem 3D (same engine) only with a Redneck brand of humour. They do things Duke didn't, like have houses, barns and wide open areas. Other than that it's a run of the mill dos-age shooter.

This game is hilarious, I can't wait to get to work on it again. It was nearly impossible to reinstall the old one because it was a DOS nightmare!
To Weclock: If you don't enjoy redneck jokes, there's not much reason to play this game. It's fun because of the humor and style. I laugh out loud every time I play it. No demo, but how about 6 bucks?

heh, I love redneck jokes, I'm actually a stones throw away from doing video "reneck video game reviews" my only problem is that if you go too deep with redneck jokes, it just gets gross. And my problem with spending six bucks, is that I don't want to own something that I have no use for. I really hate that. That's why all the stuff I don't use, is borrowed from someone else. It's why if I can't get a demo for a game, I usually just steal it to see if I like it, and then buy it if I like it.

It's also way more difficult! :O I'm kind of stunned by its difficulty in the default mode... Usually I never have any problem in high difficulties.... maybe because when I was a kid I played it in god mode ahah :D

Amazing! This is one of my favorite games of all-time, and I've been waiting for this specifically all week so it can be my first download here! I bought just the first Redneck Rampage back in the day for $35 new, and loved it even though my PC at the time was a bit too slow! =)
It uses DOSBox (which is the greatest program ever) which isn't a big surprise, as it runs just fast enough for me, but then again, I still have a single-core athlon 3700+ here. I'm sure you guys with dual-core CPUs have a smoother ride. I also love the way the Start Menu shortcuts are organized with a graphic mode menu and a shortcut to the original setup program. Awesome job, GoG staff!
Four questions I have though:
1) Since 'Suckin' Grits On Route 66' is an add-on to the original, why is the entire first game of 'Redneck Rampage' included TWICE? Route 66 has a seperate folder with the original game included again with it. Wouldn't it be easier to just put the Route 66 files in with the original Redneck Rampage and save around 150MB of hard disk space? I recall the Route 66 expansion only taking up around 40MB or so.
2) Why is the NOLFB utility included? I know it helps with sound compatibility issues, but I've ran Redneck Rampage in DOSBox without NOLFB and haven't had any issues, so why is it here? Some other compatibility issue?
3) Are we going to have access to the redbook audio that was on both of the original CD-ROMs for Redneck Rampage and Redneck Rampage Rides Again in the near future?
4) Didn't Redneck Rampage Rides Again have a manual too? I could be mistaken here, but I'm almost positive it did. I appreciate the inclusion of the original's manual, though!
In any event, thank you guys for this great service and the opportunity to play these great games once again for incredibly affordable prices. Keep 'em comin'! =)

But, Redneck Rampage and it's expansion have separate executables, and separate shortcuts, so people can play with or without the expansion. Since the expansion folder has all of the data that's in the original games' separate folder, it's needlessly duplicated.

That's interesting about the duplicate files. You should mention that in the redneck rampage forum proper.

4) I bought Rides Again and when I opened it recently I didn't found any manual, sadly.

So it's NOT included in the GOG version ?? That doesn't bode well at all. Maybe they need to start making them into "iso" images then, at least for the games with redbook audio.

It is in RR:RA, as a weird gog file I suspect to be some kind of iso. You can play it via the 8 tracks player in the game :P

Thank you for pointing this out, as I forgot where the 8-Track Player option was in the menu for some reason. Yep, it sure is there for Rides Again, but not for the original. :( I hope we get it soon.
