Today a more modern Electronic Arts release joins the catalogue, and we bet most of you didn't see this one coming. Time to choose your class and fight for the cause of right!

Nox is an isometric action-RPG mix from the masters at the famous Westwood Studios. You are Jack Mower, an ordinary guy living his ordinary life. But one day, due to a cosmic accident and the actions by the evil Queen of Necromancers, you're being sucked out of this universe by your own TV and transferred to a fantasy parallel universe called Nox. We're not sure, but we think the moral of Nox is "Don't watch too much TV." Who says gaming doesn't spread positive messages?

Jack, though, seems in a bit of a spot. It won't be a surprise if we tell you that the world Jack got into is in danger and he's the one that can save it, right?

The beginning seems easy, you need to choose your class and get into action. But the choice isn't as easy as you think it is as every class has its own starting point, story, ending, and gameplay mechanics, so choose your path wisely or just prepare to beat the game 3 times. As a warrior you'll be slashing and crushing your enemies with the huge arsenal of melee weapons available in the game, but you won't be able to use magic. The wizard is a mighty magician with a spellbook full of magic tricks you can use to attack enemies, make yourself invisible, teleport, and more. Wizards can't use weapons, though, so there's no backup if the spells run out. The last path you can choose is to play as the conjurer who can summon monsters and wild animals living in the world of Nox and use them to do all his dirty work, while also healing himself and his allies and, last but not least, using bows to help your critters out.

If you finish the game with all 3 classes and want more there are fun multiplayer modes that are inspired by the FPS genre like deathmatch, capture the flag, "King of the Realm" (aka king of the hill), and even a co-op mode! That's a hella lot of fun gameplay for only $5.99, so go get it now!
Never heard of this one, seems interesting though. Wish'd.

Gyrocoptor: Oh my, a Westwood Studios game! Here's hoping we'll get Command & Conquer on GOG!

overread: You know you can still get Command and Conquer - heck most of the older series games in the 1st Decade collection that is still on sale. All on CD and I don't recall there being any DRM stuffs with it - a great way to get most of the classic Westwood games up to Red Alert 2

As for Nox I remember this game from the Red Alert preview videos (back when released games had little tidbit videos of the developers next project slipped into them - rather like a VHS or DVD of a film). I'm mighty tempted to get it and give it a try since being burned so badly by the "Diablo 3 requires fulltime online connection - yeah even for your single player lot"
Maybe Torchlight 2 isn't much better in that regard - I don't know if it needs online connection all the time or (for obvious reasons) only in coop - but it will be much more fun for only 20 USD. ;-)

But about the topic: Can we get Prince of Qin, too? And maybe Lamentation Sword (which is not really good but not bad either, and we also have Master of Orion 3 here which has the same niveau)? And of course System Shock 1+2, Wheel of Time and Imperialism (Imp 2 sucks but Imp 1 is good)? :-)

Not only up to RA2, it also includes Generals with the expansion!
BTW, it comes with only a CD check, which is also easily removed by a community patch actually featured once by EA.

Ahh yes CD check, though I've never really considered that to be DRM - at least not in the same scale as the online connectivity type favoured by the likes of UBISoft. Course it does messup if the disk goes missing or is damaged, but then again a fair few CD checks do get the community/official removal patches once the game has been out for a good while.

Neither have I, that's why I wrote it only comes with a CD check.
Havent had time yet to do anything but buy the game so havent read all the posts, but wasent one of the selling points of the game - the ability to jump ?(which was sort of unique for isometric RPG at the time) or was that another game i have somewhere lol
HO YEAH!!! Freaking nice addition!!! If you guys add Clive Barker's Undying I would be the happyest man of earth!
Oh yes, at last it looks like mighty westwood is surfacing on GOG. I got this one back in the day when it first came out on cd-rom and played it all the way through, only on the warrior though, this game is a rare gem, even if its a diablo ripoff, but it's a damn fine one at that. Now i just hope gog will dig even deeper into mighty westwoods game library and possibly find the likes of mighty "lands of lore" and maybe even the awesome C&C games, getting a win7 fix :), but for now this is a damn fine release to bring home to gog, i'm getting this even though i still got the old cd-rom somewhere. thx for a great release :D
I have this game in phisical media and is a good Diablo-like game with 3 character classes to choose and the game changes some areas because of this choice.

And is nice to see a Westwood game here, I hope to see Dune 2 in a future release.

Holy shit. Not only did I forget that it's Tuesday after a long weekend, but had the nice little surprise of Nox getting released. Very neat, thanks GOG! :D
I was hoping for Nox, and hope to purchase it soon. It's just too bad that these EA GOG.com releases have been stingy on the extras, as I would love to have some wallpapers with this one. ^_^
OMG, I was just checking this out on amazon last night.

Imagine how I felt when I saw Nox pop up on GoG. I nearly soiled my pants.

Going to scoop this one up when I get home since I've been wanting to play this for ages.
Whoa, Nox! An excellent game. Definitely wishlisted!
I had never heard of Nox before, but it sounds interesting. Wishlisted until funds allow.
Unexpected :D I've been hoping to see this here! Thanks!
