We hope you've been busy playing Might and Magic 7, because its sequel is now officially part of our rapidly expanding collection of games!

Might and Magic 8: Day of the Destroyer is a first-person perspective role-playing game and is the last game of the series with such strong ties to its predecessors. Most notably, its engine is based on that of the classic Might and Magic 6, with most of the familiar mechanics remaining, for the most part, unchanged.
The story, closely tied to the previous Might and Magic games and also Heroes of Might and Magic 3, is enthralling and full of exploration, great dialog and puzzles and, of course, is accompanied by a wonderful soundtrack.
Acromage, the card mini-game you should remember from the prequel, is present in the eight installment as well, with a few alterations, and is still as addictive as ever.
The biggest difference between this game and its predecessors is that you don't have to create an entire party right at the start. You're free to recruit new members for your party and change its composition at will. You can even have a dragon as one of your companions.
So if you haven't finished Might and Magic 7 yet, do it quickly (without sacrificing the experience, of course!) and witness the next chapter of the story.
Hmm.
wow, that actually looks uglier than VII :) but I'll still get it eventually, a collection is a collection...

too bad I'll probably never find time to play these :(
Yay! Sorta.

This is the one that M&M that I've started, but haven't finished. It's not as good as 6 or 7, but still pretty decent.
I would instantly buy it if someone could ensure me that hardware acceleration works without a white flashing screen. It makes part MM VII completely unenjoyable for me :(

If someone has a solution for this, please post your ideas here http://www.gog.com/en/forum/might_and_magic_series/whife_flashes_with_hardware_acceleration
More M&M! Sweet!
I've never played Might and Magic VIII. In fact, that's the only one missing in my collection (yes, I have Might and Magic IX). So I HAVE to buy it, for the sake of completion.
So why doesn't this show up in the games catalogue yet?
Gotta catch'em all kinda vibe going on here.
This is kinda the west's answer to Final Fantasy, I take it?

Wikipedia tells me that Final Fantasy came a year after Might and Magic.
Insta-fucking-buy.
Thank you, GOG.
Another one to add to my collection thanks

Then vice versa. I was referring to the numerically differentiated entries sharing a similar title, set in a fantasy world. Also, they're RPG's.

I would actually think they're independent of each other, but likely inspired by similar precursors. Of course, after the first few titles the story could be completely different.
