From Quantic Dream, the creators of Nomad Soul and Heavy Rain, today we give you Fahrenheit. As we hinted on Facebook and Twitter, yesterday, this game is also known as Indigo Prophecy (For men, it’s like purple but darker), this is an interactive adventure that’ll rock your world for only $5.99!

Just like the two other titles of Quantic Dream, Fahrenheit is more than just a game, it’s more of a statement to a new, revolutionary style of game play. You are controlling four different characters, the murderer Lucas Kane, the female detective Carla Valenti, the NYPD sergeant Tyler Miles, and Father Markus Kane--Lucas’ brother. Apart from that you’ll meet a variety of lifelike characters that you can interact with. The game is controlled by keyboard and mouse, while the latter has some interesting applications to immerse you even more into the game experience.

While Fahrenheit is an interactive movie/adventure game, it has action sequences with quick time events in which the ultimate success depends if you can get the job done in time. Just to cheer you up guys, you don’t have to be as fast as an 13 year old in button mashing, and you can replay the QTEs until you nail ‘em.

Another original feature, this time in the presentation department, is the innovative use of split-screen. No, there is no split-screen co-op in Fahrenheit, it’s more like a new way of building suspense and showing the game world as a living whole not just one camera hanging above your shoulder ;) Sometimes in the game, the screen will split into two divisions, one will show your character, and the other one will be focusing on things like, cops rushing after you while you are doing everything you can just to escape them.

Rarely an adventure game has so much replay value without a ton of added DLC, Fahrenheit is just so big and entangling in the sheer scope of possible paths to take and multiple endings to witness.

In this release we include a game save with the finished game, because if you have a finished game save you are given a lot of additional content in the game (soundtracks, minigames, cinematics), but we’re afraid that the PC version of Fahrenheit has no support for game pads, so you’ll have to stick your mouse and keyboard to experience this great adventure.

Pick Fahrenheit / Indigo Prophecy up now on GOG.com for only $5.99!
Is this the uncensored version (Fahrenheit) or the U.S. version (Indigo Prophecy)?

lukaszthegreat: it was completely optional. i didn't even see it. but a person going in her/his underwear into a shower is just too stupid to bare. I immediately stopped playing that version.

bazilisek: Now it's been a few years, but I think that out of the three sex scenes in the game total, at least one (the really squicky one) definitely was not optional, and I'm inclined to believe one of the others cannot be avoided, either (the interactive one).

Didn't know about that shower bit. You are right, that is beyond silly.
SPOILERS

i just remembered. the last sex scene with you and that cop chick (forgot her name already) is squicky and most likely unavoidable. I did see it.

the interactive one is avoidable. it's with your ex and you have to play the dialog right to even get the option and then you still can opt out of it.
hold on just a minute here....

The publisher of this game here on GOG is Quantic Dream?

Wasn't the original publisher of this game Atari?

It's Fahrenheit, the uncensored euoprean version. Gog added that information on the gamepage above the ratings.

Bavarian: As I already mentioned here: I played the original DVD version with a gamepad and didn't have any problems. Every button and both sticks were detected correctly. Maybe gamepads are not supported officially, but that doesn't mean it's impossible to use one. Just give it a try.
After some digging on the internet I found out that the problem is the right analogue stick. Newer gamepads use a different driver or something like that and are therefore not fully supported. I can confirm that the XBox 360 wireless will not work .

You remember the gamepad you used? We could mention the supported pads on the wiki page.

Yes, was also curious about that. That's maybe the reason why the games was dropped from gamersgate and steam (?). Rights got maybe back to the developer.
I know I probably said it before but...damn

Mad props to the GOG team for including the soundtrack

this one and "Santa Monica" became my two-hit soundtrack for a month after I've finished the game... sad time of my life so this fitted perfectly :)
So the version that i played 5 years ago apparently was censored version, i had no idea. I had the box 3 CD version (Indigo Prophecy). It's good game but suffer from gaping plot hole and little bit rushed near the end. But that was Indigo Prophecy, i don't know if this Fahrenheit, offer much more content.

It only has three sex scenes that are uncensored in the ROW and censored in the US.

So that's all? Then i guess i don't need to get this one.
Fantastic game - I still have my disc version but will get this when it's on sale so I can get rid of the physical clutter (love digital games, made my game purchase addiction a so much more organized hobby).

How about Nomad Soul for next weeks release :)
Awesome game, but I'll stick with my uncensored EU retail version for now, seeing as the GOG version apparently still has the problem with recent joypads.

That would be great! Even though I have it on disc already it refuses to work on modern PCs because of a problem with the Z-buffer on modern graphics cards. So its either play in the absolutely abominable software mode or suffer block hell as soon as the intro starts.

If Monsieur Cage can dig up the source code to Nomad Soul somewhere and fix the problem, that'd be an instabuy for me.

SirPrimalform: I heavily recommend a gamepad for this game, the mouse half of the mouse and keyboard controls are awful.
Also, don't expect the multiple endings to be that different.

Fuzzyfireball: GOG said the PC version doesn't support gamepads.
I played the (disc) PC version all the way through with a gamepad so if GOG's version doesn't support gamepads it's something to do with them.

There's a simple config file setting that's supposed to restore everything missing in the US version. It shouldn't be hard to track down a post about it.
