Most of GOG.com users already know that Planescape: Torment is one of the best games ever created. What's even cooler about it, fans of the game made it even better with lots of mods and enhancements, but it's pretty difficult to figure out what modifications and in which order they should be installed. Thanks to Johnny Walker aka ThunderPeel2001, who originally posted this article a detailed description of the fastest and easiest way to get the best of Planescape: Torment.

Maybe it could help if you would tell me step for step what you did?

So you downloaded a file called sth. like "Ghostdogs_PST_UI_mod_v2.2.7z" or just "Ghostdogs_PST_UI_mod_v2.2".
Then you extracted that archive into a folder and copied all contens to "C:\GOG.com\Planescape Torment\" - right?
And you launched "Setup-GhostDog's-PST-UI.exe" in "C:\GOG.com\Planescape Torment\" ?

YESSSS!

After far too much tinkering, I got it to work.

Things to note:

*If you use a program other than 7Zip, your file structure might be messed up on extraction. This gave me no end of headaches.

*This Thread proved invaluable - my computer's native resolution is 1900x1200 - at least, that's what I thought. Changing that to 1920 x 1200 made the thing finally work!

Moral of the story: use 7zip, trust the SHS forums, and above all, listen to Ostwind83, who deserves a tech support salary!
I love GOG for this sort of thing. Brilliant.

It would be nice, though, if you could host the files yourselves in case they disappear, or provide the games pre-patched.
Sweet, most of these have been updated since I last dled them, and the widescreen option's gotten easier (last time I tried it, it made everything impossible to see).

Question though, anyone got a FAQ for the Unfinished Business stuff?
The forum's dead. Does anyone have mirrors for those files?

I just tried and the links work for me.

If you're still having problems, Gibberlings3 will probably have them or you can ask for them there. http://www.gibberlings3.net/
You sir have just turned one of my favorite games of all time into my undisputed favorite game of all time. My only regret is that I didn't discover these mods sooner. Thank you :D
I get the impression that the whole set of mods has to be installed at the same time, following the sequence laid out in the mods guide. Can I begin installing Planescape mods at the "Fixpack" and below level? I'm about halfway through the game and I don't want to risk messing up the savegames by changing resolutions.

Changing resolutions won't mess up anything, the rest? Hard to say.

Quinn (the author of the fixpack) wrote here, that you should start a new game after installing the fixpack (beginning with version 3.0). I can't find anything about saves in the readme, but someone on the officail forum writes that the readme states the same thing.

I never tried the widescreen mod, but it appears to include a tool to convert vanilla savegames to widescreen compatible ones.

Well, I can safely say that installing the mods the way it is described crashes the game when I load an existing savegame.
Don't know which mod actually causes it, though.

After step #3, save games are crashing. I uninstalled it and loading existing saves works once more.

If Planescape crashes while moving to new area / house after installing mods, try to disable all software acceleration from the video options. This solved few odd crashes for me.

The Tweak Pack had an install option that this mod guide didn't mention. Something like Dustman Robes Area Removal. What is that?
I have tried to install GhostdogsUi mod but have been unable to get it to work for some reason. If I double click the file after download it says it "is not a valid win32 application".
I have tried to directly extract it using 7zip file manager but it says it encountered a number of errors. I have tried to run the setup but it says UNABLE TO FIND "DIALOGUE.TLK" I'm using Windows 7 64 version.

edit: Nevermind I found i needed to unzip on desktop then move files over to the game.

Just what I was looking for. Now I'm ready to begin Planescape.
