kodeen: So I just started playing this game this past weekend, and I've never been so addicted to a game in a long, long time. All I've done so far is dig a mineshaft all the way to the bedrock (and mine if, of course) and am still in the early stages of building my gigantic pyramid (base is 122 x 122 blocks). Building the pyramid is the easy part, the bitch is removing the mountains that are currently in the way.
I hope you do realize, that the height limit for placing blocks is just 64 blocks above sea level. I'm just trying to save you from the frustration later, when you're halfway up the pyramid :)

Right, but since every vertical block up removes two horizontal blocks, it's only going to be 61 blocks up.

You can see what we did with our giant pyramid on our GOG server, if you haven't already. :)
Just finished my latest updates to the Ultima Minecraft Texture Pack.

Based on the Ultima series of games (mainly U6 and U7).

Find it here: http://www.ultimaaiera.com/blog/andy-panthros-ultima-textures-for-minecraft-updated/

It works with the latest minecraft version (1.8.1) and is a standard 16*16 texture pack.

I've attached a couple of pictures to show it off.

[edit] a new version is on the way because I foolishly missed a few things. Version 1.95c is the new version, hopefully won't be too long before it's uploaded to Ultima Aiera.

I'm still in the 1.7.whatever version of minecraft. I can't wait for 1.9 to officially come out, but I'm not going to mess with my mods until it's all sorted out.

Same here, though I'm trying to limit my building to being something easily moved from one version to the next (since I'll probably want to fully restart a new 1.9 official release world to get all the new stuff).

I have, however, learnt an important lesson regarding building and castles - build your keep and inner buildings first - then build the wall! Cause its all too easy to build what looks like a nice big wall; only to find that once you've given it a good 4 bocks of thickness and a ramparts and inner walkway - that its suddenly reduced your castle to the size of a keep ;)

Cheers, I'll look into it :)
Minecraft codes are really expensive. I want to get a few for my bro and buds, but with these prices, they'll just drain me dry. Should have hoarded a few more gift codes during Notch's wedding *grumble*

Latest version of the Ultima Minecraft Texture Pack (v2) now available!

http://www.ultimaaiera.com/beyond-ultima/spin-offs/ultima-textures-for-minecraft/

[For Minecraft 1.0, standard 16x16 texture pack, no mods required, based mainly on U6 and U7]
I'm currently playing Dwarf Fortress levels in Minecraft .

http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?PHPSESSID=3450d49db836f2e81afd2d4a946b4706&topic=64473.0

- Download Dwarf Fortress
http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/

- Download defhack
http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=91166.0

- Copy defhack to the dwarf fortress directory

- Start Dwarf Fortress an load the world/region you want to convert.
Pause the Dwarf Fortress game.

- Type df2minecraft in the command propt that comes up.
When it has finished converting the level, check if there were any 'unknown objects' found during conversion. 'Unknown Objects' are objects that don't yet have a defination in the settings file, and so, aren't converted properly. These will end up as a 'hole' in the Minecraft map. Press enter to close the DF2MC program. Dwarf Fortress should then again respond to input. If it does not, run DFunstuck which will fix the issue.

- You will find a new folder called " World 1" in your Dwarf Fortress directory . Put it into your Minecraft saves folder . Run Minecraft choose the new save .
