Thank you everyone who helped us achieve the 6 million unique game downloads! You're the greatest, and here's a free Broken Sword for you!

Last week, during CD Projekt Fall 2011 Conference, we've launched a counter on the main page which indicated the number of unique games downloaded at GOG.com. Today that counter hit 6 million unique game downloads, and to celebrate this fact and to thank all of you at GOG.com, together with Revolution Software, we're lowering the price for first part of the acclaimed Broken Sword series to “free"! In order to receive the free copy of Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars free, go to the gamecard and click on “download now”, at which point the game will be added to your game shelf.

The special offer for Broken Sword is valid until October 1, at 7:59 a.m. EDT (11:59 a.m. GMT), so be sure to grab it by then and don’t forget to share the news with all your friends!!!

UPDATE: In addition, we mentioned that the user who will make the 6 millionth download will receive the whole GOG.com catalogue for free! It was not a prank and the user who should start "wrestling" with his virtual shelf full of awesome classics is Dotur who downloaded Icewind Dale 2 exactly on 2011-09-29 at 07:39:43 EDT. Congratulations! We'll send you the gift certificate with all the games from the catalogue.
When I first heard about this site I remember thinking that it was nice that such a site existed; I felt it was a noble endeavour and I wished you well, but it never occurred to me that I might actually use it. Now you lot have your hooks well and truly sunk in as I catch up on a rake of classic titles i missed first time around.

So, basically, what I'm saying is congrats on the milestone GOG!
I wonder, will you release Broken Sword 4 at some point?
I return after like 3 months to find i won a competition while i was gone and even gog is giving me a free game

Thanks GOG! And congrats to you and to Dotur! You guys are some cool guys...
Congrats to GOG on the milestone and Dotur on the huge score. Here's to seven million!

PS - I really hope GOG was nice enough to put the entire catalog on his shelf in alphabetical order. Can you imagine moving *all* those games around to mix in his current games and keep them in order? </ocd>

lefty: I think the best idea is not giving a free game to everyone but to give a discount to everyone for any game in GOG's catalog but I can understand why they didn't do that because giving the BS1 cost them nothing ;)
About Beneath The Steel Sky, it was free before the GOG.

SirPrimalform: Who mentioned Beneath a Steel Sky other than you? *confused*
Don't be so confused. Read the whole topic and you'll find who mentioned.
I didn't know what to expect, but I'm really enjoying this game, many thanks for this gift!

I wish the whole team a great fourth year, and a lot of success! :)

Was late to the party, but still got the free game
Congratulations GOG and Dotur
Not happy. I find out about this about eight hours too late.

:(
I couldn't get it to go to my wall. Its odd that some folks got many copies added and it didn't work for me at all? I tried it later, but it it just went to my shopping cart. Arrgggg!

Well you said it in reply to me when I hadn't said anything about it, hence my confusion. :P
Just wanted to say "thanks" to GOG, because this is a wonderful gift. This is one of those classic games I´ve never played for one reason or another, so getting it for free is totally awesome. I´ve always heard nice things about Broken Sword, and I love some other graphic adventures (specially Day of the Tentacle and Sam & Max), so I´ll really enjoy playing this game, specially having both modern and classic editions.

Thanks for this, really!
I missed the download date by just a few hours, all because I was on a trip. Oh well, life goes on.
Lame. Missed the download too. Perhaps a bit more warning would have been nice. We can't all be glued to the computer 24/7.
Is there a special offer for those of us who already bought Broken Sword?
