Hikage1983: Hmmm would you recommend Shadwen?
avatar
BreOl72: Considering, you played the demo, you know what to expect from the gameplay already.
I played it beginning to end and mostly enjoyed it.
However - the ending was quite disappointing (the alternative ending too).
But I'd say, if you enjoyed the demo - for €4,29 it's ok...just don't expect too much from the ending(s).

Hikage1983: Is the editor still missing?
avatar
BreOl72: I would assume so - as far as I know, the editor is tied to the Steam Workshop:
https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Shadwen

The game is on sale on Humble...and apparently you get the Steam version, as well as a DRM-free version:
https://www.humblebundle.com/store/shadwen

Of course - that DRM-free version will miss the editor, too.
Thanks alot for the info.

I have mixed feelings about the endings being disappointing so i will have to give it some thought.
Although it's the journey that matters usually, not the destination. Unless it's a cliffhanger!

As for the editor, it is unfortunate but not a deal breaker. At least not one big enough to make me give up on a DRM-free copy. I'll get it here if i decide on it.

Thanks again, have a good one.

Ah, that explains it. What I thought to be a bug (see above) is just some bad conveyance of information!
Wow, some very nice discount here :) I like it.

Reading trough the comments ... Is Thief 3 really that problematic? I mean bugs and crashes.

I did several playthrough Thief Deadly Shadows, and I got only 1 crash. Play it with the Sneaky patch for the widescreen support !

Oh, thank you for the information! :)
Will buy it now.
Whenever I read stealth, I'm sad about Splinter Cell:Chaos Theory not being available here. =/

kai2: Yes. Have played 1 - 3 on console and 1 and 2 on PC as well.

I would not recommend SGW1 to anyone but completionists.

SGW2 is a bit better and feels more refined but is pretty much on rails and certainly pales in comparison with the Sniper Elite series.

SGW3 is a flawed gem IMHO. It plays very much like a mixture of Far Cry 2 and Splinter Cell. Yes, there are some issues (bugs) but nothing game-breaking. The story is a bit goofy, but the atmosphere is pretty good and the ability to take on situations from all sides at either close range or distance really sold me on the experience.

Haven't played SGW Contracts yet -- other than a few minutes -- but looking forward to playing as I have time.
So it sounds like SGW3 is the best one?
No RWarehall? Sniper: Ghost Warrior 1 and 2 are new lows, about half of the previous sale price. 3 is now 5 euros instead of 6.

XIII is also a new low, but not by much. Serial Cleaner is also a new low, from $3.79 to $2.99 now. I don't have lists so I could have missed things.

W3irdN3rd: No RWarehall?
There are also no posts from him in the weekly sale topic.

I think it may be somehow related to his numerous violations of forum rules during the past week. Calling people "lowlifes" and telling them to "f*** off" was definitely not a good idea.

Here you can see that half of his recent posts have been modded by Bookwyrm627:

I've never seen his posts edited by a moderator before. It seems he really crossed the line this time.

I was somewhat following that heated discussion. Basically just GameRager and him arguing about whether or not the game was worthy of a GOG release. While it was certainly wild and mild insults were being thrown around a bit, I would be surprised if that was the reason he received some sort of forum penalty.

I hope RWarehall can be back soon.

That game, was it made by Bethesda? Because it looks a lot like it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eJdJeMVnRA dunno if it has been patched since, if I am to believe that thread only the worst bugs were fixed.

It wasn't the first time he had done such things. For example, you can remember this Grimoire discussion:
https://www.gog.com/forum/general/so_grimoire

But it's the first time I saw that his posts were edited by moderators. I think he already received a couple of warnings from them, which he ignored, so theoretically he could get some kind of penalty this time.

This game was developed by Reality Pump (EARTH series, Two Worlds series). The initial release (Raven's Cry) was a mess due to production hell. Vendetta is a more polished and rebalanced version of the game. Moreover, the English voice acting was re-recorded and some new features were added (for example, wild animals).

Yeah, Vendetta is not as well polished game as The Witcher 3 (in technical aspects it's more like The Witcher 2), but it's still a pretty decent RPG from Eastern Europe (the so-called "eurojank"). If you like the pirate theme and especially the Sea Dogs games (which are much more broken than Vendetta, by the way), you can try to give it a chance.
