BillyMaysFan59: So GOG..... you're getting this today, yes?
avatar
BKGaming: I don't think they have put it out yet, they just said it would be sometime today... really hoping it's soon though or it will be to late for GOG probably. :/
GOG has done later releases than usual before. Patience, young Padawan.... :P

A dev just told me they have been in contact with GOG and that it should be up soon. :)
And here is the launch trailer...

BKGaming: Any M&B fans here?

Reforged Edition is coming out tomorrow. Lets hope GOG gets it & puts it up before the weekend, and it's a free update for Viking Conquest adding lots of new content.

Been waiting for this for a while...

monkeydelarge: It is nice to hear that it is a free update for people who paid for Viking Conquest and not an upgrade or DLC that costs money. Because when Viking Conquest came out, most people confirmed that is was a broken piece of garbage. In the past, I've noticed several publishers and devs, charging people for upgrades or DLC even though the upgrades or DLC were just much needed patches to make the game more acceptable from a technical point of view(fixing low performance issues, removing bugs, increasing stability, fixing broken gameplay, including what was promised at the start). Charging people for patches is an extreme act of douchebaggery. Something even EA would never do. I've decided to boycott several publishers and devs because they started charging people for patches. Fortunately, most publishers and devs have the good sense, not to stoop so low.
Which publishers charge people for that? Patches are essential. On the subject, I didn't get viking conquest when I got M&B: Warband here on GOG earlier this year because it was not on sale and too expensive (Got Napoleonic Wars though. Base game is great, Napoleonic wars is ok, I would recommend both although only just in Napoleonic Wars' case.I haven't played the first game but it sounds like everyhting or almost everything is in Warband as well as new things.). Sounds like I had a lucky escape, although if it is fixed, I may get it on sale.

skeletonbow: I really loved the original Mount and Blade and played it for a few hundred hours last year when I bought it. Tried Warband as everyone raved about how much better it was but I didn't find massive graphic corruption and random crashes to desktop as "better" so never did get into it as of yet. Due to my disappointment with the instability and slow performance of Warband as well as the bad reviews for Viking Conquest claiming it was very buggy I decided to avoid it for the time being as well.

Hopefully they fix both games though as I really enjoyed Mount and Blade and also greatly look forward to Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord when it is released.
Yeah, compared to Mount & Blade, Warband is poorly optimized.

Yes. They said they talked to GOG and that it should be added soon hours ago. I guess it won't be to Monday. :/

Could it be that these problems are more specific to you? I haven't had crashes or corruption on the three different machines I've played on. The performance was an issue but when I turned off 'load on demand' it was much better.

No. I had the same problem with a previous laptop.

And what's the difference between the graphics you had to what you have now? That is to say; I'm assuming it doesn't crash for you now.

I highly doubt it. I don't have any performance problems with any other games and am also able to play The Witcher 3 at 1920x1200 @ 30FPS or 2560x1600 @ 20FPS. The first Mount and Blade game runs like lightening at 2560x1600 with all effects maxed out. Warband runs terrible at 1920x1200 with most effects disabled.

It's definitely an issue in the game itself. It might be an issue that only affects certain video cards or brands (I have an AMD Radeon HD7850), but I'm in no way alone as Google confirmed when I searched before. The game has graphics corruption issues also, or which I do not encounter with any of the other 100+ games I have installed and have played including the original Mount and Blade.

Very much a game flaw, and that is true regardless of whether someone else out there can play it without any problems at all. Problems with games rarely are "works for everyone" or "problem happens for everyone" because everyone has very different hardware, drivers and other variables.

1C Company and Longbow Games are two publishers, guilty of this.

I think it's possible we'll get it on Monday together with a M&B staff pick.
Call it a hunch
Gotta' love free content updates. Really looking forward to this one.
